I'm sure glad I don't fly like I did when working. Scary stuff.

Let’s cut the guy some slack. Flying is a scary thing for a lot of people and you take a few pops before boarding, mellow out a bit and you are calm as a cucumber! Works for me so why not pilots?

so....we strip-search Granny before she can board, but we don’t make the pilot take a pre-flight brethalyzer?

Why would a pilot do something so stupid and destroy his career in the process?! I just don't get it. I was aircrew on the C-130 and I would never have dreamed of showing up to go flying while intoxicated. This guy won't get hired as an instructor, let alone as an airline pilot. His only opportunities will be as a drug smuggler or flying worn out 727s in the heart of Africa.

Got to wonder why the co-pilot did not relieve the pilot during the flight. That would seem to me to be a common sense response.

“After this he’ll be lucky to be flying cargo planes full of dog $h!t out of Hong Kong” (from the movie Top Gun).
On the other hand, this is 2016 - just claim you’re homosexual or trans-something. He’ll be back on the job tomorrow.
