The only thing more shocking than murder of an entire family in rural Ohio might be to learn how big the area they grew marijuana in is to the international drug trade. Eight members of the Rhoden family, ranging in age from 16 to 44, were shot to death in four homes early Friday morning and three of those homes had considerable marijuana operations.

From what I’ve seen of Washington drivers, stoned would be an improvement. :)
More seriously....places like movie theaters and restaurants are gonna need to provide lounges for dopers getting their herb on. Or they’ll do it in their cars. Just the nature of dopers...food and entertainment are enhanced by being stoned. But really, what’s with the driving? I see Washington plates on vehicles doing the dumbest things. I see an Oriental driving with Washington plates, I get scared.
You may be right about that. My wife and I were coming home on I-5 last night about 10:00 p.m.. We were doing around 70mph which was 10mph over to keep up with traffic and people were still swerving in and out passing us and big trucks on both sides until I made back to the right lane. It was crazy.
Most of our driving in Oregon is in the Portland area and although the traffic is often bad, people do seem more considerate there. We did make a lot of trips to the Oregon coast when I was taking hang gliding lessons and we just loved it there.
One time my wife and I were flying back from California in our small airplane and she had needed to take a potty break. We landed at a small airport on the East side of I-5 somewhere south of Salem. While she was using the restroom, I asked the lady at the business on the airport if there was fast food nearby. She said, “Sure, there is a Kentucky Fried Chicken in town. It is about 3 miles that way.”
I must have looked a little disappointed. Then she said, “You can use my car. Don't worry about my dog, she doesn't bite.” I assumed it would be a beat up car with some sort of pit bull sitting in the back seat. It was actually a Cadillac with a well groomed poodle. I couldn't believe how friendly and trusting she was. My dad is from Eastern Washington people are friendly there, but not as friendly as in central Oregon judging from that experience.
Oregon gets a bad rap from the hysterical haters of the Willamette Valley. Feel free to bomb them with Snapple bottles full of urine the next time you fly over.
Apparently most of the grower are illegal Mexicans.
But are the cartels and gangs gone? No.
Will there be more turning of water into wine?
can't wait til they make prostitution legal....just think how much money they'll get then...
drugs?...pot?...maybe not so much...they can be off in their little fairy land but still driving the school bus...
its scary....
I hope TPTB soon start testing every so called "drunken" driver for pot and other drugs....IMO, a large number of "drunk" drivers are also stoned....once they start testing, it will be clearly known.
That is the irritating thing. When they legalized it in Washington they promised that they would enforce the law about driving while under the influence of marijuana. But I have not seen any evidence that this has been done. I am not sure that they have even agreed on any actual standards for prosecution.
You apparently neglected to read post #11 which I was replying to. The OP presented a point on the economics of the black market and I responded =>

OP (post #11):They just need to be cheaper than the taxed legal stuff which is expensive.
Me: CO managed to rake in $135M in taxes from $1B in legal sales. Thats $1B that didnt go to the black market.

You also ignored the point about the black market being deprived of a chunk of its finances.
