I wondered how the revenues were for talkradio stations.
I listen via a desktop program that connects directly to many radio station audio streams.
For a few years, I have noticed that most of the ads during breaks are PSAs and government agency type ads. There are few commerce and business ads. Some of the stations used to go dark (silent) during part of the breaks.
Of course, there are probably FAA restrictions that local ads cannot be broadcast nationally, etc.
The problem with PSAs is that they run them into the ground. Sometimes they even play the same PSA a couple of times during the same break period.
Right now, the most obnoxious ones are the light-bulb commercials and lumens.
Almost every radio ad is sponsored by the “Ad Council” obvious propaganda media.
So well put - where you stand is usually pretty close to where you sit.
We've come a long way with Rush but looking back on it he is a rather selfish dude - no kids, drugs, multiple marrigages. And yet he "gets it" - sorry Rush has missed out on one of the most important apects in life that shapes how most adults view the world, the priorities they have and the decisions they make.
Rush is reading all of this right now. 11 o'clock you'll notice a huge change in tone I suspect.

You have to understand, Rush hates Trump with every fiber of his naked glorious body. If you understand that then everything he says makes sense.
So Cruz is playing by the “current rules”...Rush quoted “Curly” who said that the 1237 rules could change.
So which rules will be in effect at the convention?
Trump’s candidacy has spotlighted the corrupt GOPE party, if nothing else he is a hero.
And yet, over at the PAT party, where Bernie is getting schlonged by the Super Delegates, all is quiet.....
I’m pretty sure that Snerdley is Team Trump and has been giving Rush grief for weeks.
I wonder if part of what drives Rush re: Trump may be simple jealousy. Rush, like Trump, is a complete outsider. Like Trump he is very well known to the American public. Maybe he thinks “that could have been me”.
Right now Rush is in a quandary, he knows that his listeners want him to condemn the delegate process as corrupt. But Rush’s Theory On Moral Sentiments may not be able to do that, it seems to be wedded to sucking up to power a bit too much.
Rush saying Cruz-Kasich alliance is already unraveling.... scuse me if I am smiling ear to ear.

The reason "that's the way it's always been" doesn't fly is that the way it's always been is that the GOPe candidate always wrapped it up after Super Tuesday, or shortly after, so that the actual delegate selection process was pro forma, it didn't really matter.
Now that we have a true electoral contest, we are seeing the flaws in the process, meaning we are seeing all the hidden back-doors that were always there but never used, that are being used now to undermine the will of the voters because the GOPe finally lost at the ballot box.
That's what has the people so angry. It's not that the rules were always there, it's that the rules are designed keep the establishment in power.

Like it or not Rush has always to some degree been very deferential to Republican Leadership. Long time ago—Bob Dornan used to be the regular substitute host. After contract with America- Newt told Rush he needed to find another substitute host because he did not want Dornan to be a prominent voice in the Party.
That is why Dornan no longer subs for Rush—and also why he hates Newt Gingrich!!
Something to remember is many commercials that are heard over the air are covered by something else on the stream. Usually has something to do with digital rights of music beds used in commercials.
I thought Cruz would be the first one to cheat - turns out it’s Kasich.

I used to listen to George every day. Paul Harvey right before noon on KABC and then over to George on KIEV before it was seized by the usurping neocon vermin of Salem radio. George was the greatest. I doubt that Rush ever listened to George at all, they were never in the same market. Just those of us in LA/OC knew George.
His regular callers were Free Republic before there was Free Republic. Terry Anderson also got his start as a caller to George’s program: “Stupid people of America, good evening!” “If you ain’t mad, you ain’t payin’ attention”. I miss him too.
That IS the important statement in ALL of this hoopla, the rules were set up to make sure they ALWAYS benefit the establishment!!! EVERYTHING our founding fathers DID NOT want to happen!!! ALL of this same crap went on with Reagan also but NOW we have social media, twitter gets stuff out there at lightening speed!!! People are reporting to us WE used to have to hear news from MSM, NO MORE these BASTARDS need a little KARMA coming their way!!!!
I’m so thick I won’t listen to Rush again.
