Sen. Ted Cruzs wipeout in the New York primary, while expected, nevertheless rattled many Republican insiders and activists who did not foresee the magnitude of the defeat. Is Cruz crumbling? Was Wisconsin an anomaly? The Cruz campaign set itself up, sending the candidate to campaign for days in New York and suggesting that Cruz could pick off congressional districts. He didnt, and worse, came in third. Expectations should have been kept low. Really low.
Just as they recovered from New York, anti-Trump Republicans looked up to see a batch of polls from the states that will be voting on April 26. Trump is ahead by a healthy margin in all of them. Gulp. Trump is winning by 18 points in one California poll. According to another report, Cruz is tied in two Indiana polls and behind in one. Yikes.

That’s a good one do, thanks for the smile
The man keeps driving wooden Stakes into his own chest.
Go Get godrve that stake!!!
I see there’s a spot in the crater to set up a dais.....
Cruz is planning another victory speech (smirk).
So very true...
I would be very surprised if Cruz did the honorable thing and dropped out to unite the party. He has not shown any honor at all in his quest to stop Trump. He is the point man for the #NeverTrump movement. The #NeverTrump people are perfectly willing to elect Hillary. So I expect Cruz to go scored earth on Trump and bring a fight to the convention.
The rumor I am hearing is that delegates bond to Trump will either not vote or vote Cruz even thou they a bond to Trump. Of course all this does is help Hillary.
Very nice.
Hi Jeff...I have a question on your CA projection. You have Cruz at 64, but I don’t see how he can get that number. Each CD awards 3 delegates to the winner by plurality; there is no 50% rule as in NY. He would either get 63 or 66.
Also, I know it’s a ways out, but the latest polling shows Trump strong in every of the 10 regions of CA. Given the more favorable rules by CD I think Trump would be looking at closer to 126 to 132.
Yet Cruz refuses the honorable course and continues to drive the party to all out civil war rather than uniting around the obvious presumptive nominee.
He is hell bent for a Hillary presidency, as are his sponsors.
He himself knows well that he is NOT constitutionally qualified! He never should have entered the race and had the current resident not been elected twice he probably would not have entered. I suspect that he thought that Obooboo’s election had done away with any REAL need to be a natural born citizen but he is NOT supporting the constitution by ignoring it.
