The cofounders of the popular Ben and Jerrys ice cream company were arrested Monday afternoon as part of a sit-in on the steps of the U.S. Capitol protesting big money in politics.
Jerry Greenfield, 66, and Ben Cohen, 65, were arrested with about 300 others for unlawful demonstration activities, according to a statement from U.S. Capitol Police Monday. All demonstrators were processed and released the same day.

Yep, my wife knows better than to ever use our resources to buy that stuff.
I remember buying Ben and Jerry’s ice cream when they were in the converted gas station. They were not the loud liberals then. Just a couple of guys with an idea. Too bad that all changed. Of course, at 20, I was a bit of a lib at the time, or apolitical, I guess.
I agree. Thanks
Europe ‘72!
It’s a unicorn wannabe! /s
Yeah, I had that album. I listened to “He’s Gone” about 30 times after one of my best buds died at the age of 29. I haven’t heard it since ‘88 when it happened.
I listened to He’s Gone when Garcia died.
:(
...”Like a steam locomotive rollin down the tracks. He’s gone.”
The idiots WANT to be arrested! They are mega rich buttholes that haven’t a care about consequences. Protesting is easy for the 1%ers.
Reliving their glory days. Hippies love protesting and getting arrested.
Agreed.
Our free speech zone should be from sea to shining sea, not restricted to postage stamps of land that have to be reserved in advance.
I finally researched to substantiate my knowledge that these two twerps were still strongly connected with B & J....and I then posted the facts on that thread.
B & J Ice Cream is now an owned subsidiary of Unilever.....and it has a separate B & J board ON WHICH SIT BOTH COHEN AND GREENBERG. They still are stockholders...and they still act as advertising front-men when called on.
They still have plenty of B & J company authority under their own part of the Unilever umbrella of subsidiaries.
Unilever was completely aware of the ideological views of Cohn and Greenfield, and stated at the time of the sale, that it (Unilever) was granting both of them plenty of leeway to continue with their social objectives
These two enemies of the Republic were not going to leave their little money-making company totally behind them, no way. Not if it still could be used.
Therefore, in view of the facts, I will continue to have my boycott continuing full throttle against these two still very active subversives.
