Gram's biscuits with strawberries and whipped cream were delicious. Much better than the store bought little sponge cake cups that some bought.

We always had biscuits with strawberries. Was so disappointed when eating the yucky sponge cakes Only other way is to make your own meringue. In spring when eggs were a plenty it was a nice treat —little nests with berries and cream.

Had internet connections all afternoon yesterday and again this a.m. (rebooted router twice so far this a.m.) - grr. Fingers crossed it keeps working now.
Missed everyone yesterday afternoon. Only caught the last part of the rally yesterday. I’ll watch it from the beginning this a.m. after I now my connection is stable.

We used to make biscuits or sometimes Mom would make an angel food cake and serve strawberries and whipped cream on slices of that. Was yummy.
Hummy. Strawberry season starts here soon. Made my first money picking strawberries for a neighbor. A dime a box with all you could eat. I have never been so sunburn or so sick from all those berries I ate. I am sure he lost money on my efforts .

Ginger Rogers was from KCMO. Olathe where I live was home to Buddy Rodgers, Mary Pickford’s husband. And William Powell went to school in KC too I think.
Strawberries are usually good here in June. Haven’t done it in a long time, but went strawberry picking at a farm not too far away. We ate a lot as we picked, too.
My mom used to make the best strawberry freezer jam. It was great on toast and I used to put it on ice cream sometimes.
I have been freezing berries whole. Add to a cup of milk in bullet with a packet of Splenda. Makes a wonderful fresh straw why shake
