ISIS barbarians have destroyed a 2,000-year-old gate close to their Iraqi stronghold of Mosul.
The breathtaking structure is known as the Gate of God, and used to guard the ancient Assyrian city Nineveh.
The destruction of the ancient structure, also called the Mashki Gate, has been confirmed by the British Institute for the Study of Iraq, and the Antiquities Department in Baghdad has not denied the demolition.
The terrorists demolished the ancient gate using military equipment, according to activists in Mosul.
ISIS thugs have destroyed many of Iraqi historic sites and monuments, including the Assyrian city of Nimrud, the Winged Bulls, and the Mosul National Museum.

You do realize that the gate you show in that picture is a reconstruction, right? Neither it nor the battlements seen are really that old, being modern.
That doesn’t excuse ISIL’s actions, though.
It’s odd that they are destroying anything they can in the region rather than rename stuff and claim it for Islam as Muslims so often have done (UNESCO is recently aiding and abetting this by trying to change the name of Temple Mount Walls to that of some critter Mohammad is supposed to have ridden). I guess that misappropriating other people’s stuff the way Mohammad freely did just isn’t their style.

Muslims have been destroying histories of the countries they have occupied. The Muslims first destroy the civilization/culture and then rape the women (after killing men). The resulting population is genetically alien on the male lineage. Then the Muslims follow extreme endogamy, often with first cousins. That results in the cultural destruction as a result of Koran and the generic destruction as a result of incest.

Yes, of course, you’re right, and that is where our main emphasis should be. But it is good to be informed about this sort of thing too, since some of these sorts of guys are moving here also. Bottom line though, the only country we can really save, or at least try to, is our own.
