Why Trump Loses
Townhall.com ^ | April 17, 2016 | Kevin McCullough

When Donald Trump looks back at the wasted time and money he put forward in producing the biggest flame-out in Presidential nominating history, he's going to easily be able to point to exactly where he lost it.

I've long thought of elections as similar to prize fights or NFL football match-ups. And if that's the case Trump keeps complaining that he doesn't get acknowledged for gaining yardage, when the purpose of the game is to score points.

For the third or fourth time in a row now, Trump basically abandoned his team on the ground in a state where he presumably wishes to win delegates. Wyoming delivered the final 14 delegates of their state's delegation this weekend.

Ted Cruz jetted over to make a speech to the convention (like he did in North Dakota, Iowa, and Colorado.) Trump decided to stay home in New York (where he's going to easily win his home state) on Tuesday to do? Only God knows what...

But what he's NOT doing is going to a state where delegates are in play, where he could go make a speech, where he could seek to get voters to listen to his ideas, and try to actually earn delegates.

Evidently he didn't even care enough about even TRYING to win delegates that he failed to help his state organizers field a full slate for the 14 spots that are open.

So... Of 59 spots that Trump could have worked to get delegates elected to run for the remaining 14 openings he somehow managed to get 5 elected?

UNDECIDED got three times more delegates elected to the final ballot than Trump did.

And I'm pretty sure UNDECIDED spent less money than Trump did.

See this:  That's a local attendee to the convention tweeting a sample of what the Cruz team printed up to assist people in voting for their preferred delegates.

Notice what the attendee said in the second sentence. "No list for Trump yet."

Meaning Donald's team--because they were too uninterested--couldn't be bothered with sending an intern to Kinkos to photo copy a list of names (all five that they slotted.)

Couple that with The Trump team decision not to take his private jet for a quick jaunt to Wyoming to give a short speech and say, "Please vote for my delegates, I'll make Wyoming and America great again," and then shuttling back to New York where he leads by 35+ points?

Well at least send one of your high profile, conservative friendly surrogates right?

Heh...  The campaign said the processes don't work for them?

Of course they don't geniuses. Because the candidate is supposed to be the one doing the work... You know... To EARN the votes of the people?

It seems increasingly that Donald doesn't like to court the votes of the "little people." He doesn't seem to feel like he should be required to go out and earn the votes of the nominating process across 54 states and territories.

He seems lazy and entitled.

And while he wonders why he will have lost 12 of the last 13 contests for delegates. The proof is in the work--or the lack thereof--that he just seems disdained to do.

Cruz is getting his brains beaten in in New York, but he's still there campaigning. He campaigned in Florida, and in South Carolina and every state where the polls showed Donald ahead. Cruz believes that he should respect the voters and go to them and try as best he can to earn their support.

Donald just ignores whole sections of the nation and then whines like a petty school girl when the people that he shunned (and later slanders) didn't just rush to his support.

He should stop "wondering" and start "working," if he really TRULY wants to represent the majority of Republicans in the Presidential race.

Cruz isn’t going to get the nomination. If he did get it like this, he will be humilated in a major landslide loss.

Way to go Canadian Ted.

The money quote:
“Media reports indicate that Cruz has an edge over Trump when it comes to rounding up delegates, which could potentially deliver him the nomination.

But many of the delegates interviewed by The Hill said the Trump campaign has a more active operation than has been reported.”

Townhall is spiking the ball too soon. Manfort seems very confidant for a guy who’s supposedly losing all over the place.

“A prominent aide to George W. Bush’s 2000 campaign could barely contain himself when we asked him to discuss Cruz, who worked in the Bush campaign’s policy shop.

This person described Cruz as hyper-arrogant and widely despised, and he emphasized—over and over—that the pervasive dislike of Cruz within the Bush ranks had nothing to do with ideology.

(Cruz, he noted, never objected to Bush’s call for compassionate conservatism, immigration reform, and national education standards, and no one on the campaign regarded him as an ideologue.)

The problem was simple: Cruz’s personality.

“Ted thought he was an expert on everything,” says this campaign veteran, who asked not to be named. “He was a smart and talented guy, but completely taken with himself and his own ideas. He would offer up opinions on everything, even matters outside his portfolio. He was a policy guy, but he would push his ideas on campaign strategy. He would send memos on everything to everyone. He would come to meetings where he wasn’t invited—and wasn’t wanted.”

In fact, this Bush alum recalls, “the quickest way for a meeting to end would be for Ted to come in. People would want out of that meeting. People wouldn’t go to a meeting if they knew he would be there. It was his inability to be part of the team. That’s exactly what he was: a big a$$hole.”

“I don’t know anyone who had a decent relationship with Cruz.” And when Bush became president, his top campaign aides agreed Cruz should not be offered a job in the White House.

“No one wanted to work with him,” this source remembers. “George W. Bush couldn’t stand the guy.”

This person adds, “It’s a real quandary for Bush campaign people: Trump versus Cruz, who to vote for? And it would be a big quandary even if it’s Cruz versus Hillary Clinton. That’s how much they cannot stand him.”

Maine , Iowa, Oklahoma should be recounted and investigated
there is very extreme diviation from polling just before vote, allegations of ballot box theft.

Cruz does OK when there is no voting, in caucuses and when he can lie that Doc Carson dropped out of the race. When Cruz stoops so low as the intimidation IRS look alike mail you know he will do anything to win.

4 of Cruz’s fellow candidates have called him a liar.

Cruz was a Bushy, now backed by Bush and Romney, and funded by hedge fund billionaires being prosecuted by IRS.
If Gramnesty back you your weak on H1b and the border.

Kevin McCullough is one of these Christian radio guys that I can no longer listen to. I wasn’t a big fan of his to begin with. AFR is now far less about Christianity and far more about politics. If I want to listen to politics on the radio all the time, I wouldn’t be listening to Christian radio.

I now have to tune out AFR. All they’ve become is “share-a-thon” and take Trump down radio.

Kevin makes a big point about Trump abandoning the futile charade of wooing Wyoming GOP delegate selection process when the GOP in Wyoming abandoned all pretext of having state wide canvassing, by vote, of the GOP electorate.

He presents that trashed up Wyoming Delegate Pick List of ‘delegates’ up for vote with their candidates they support conveniently listed so Trump supporter delegate candidates can be identified and discounted. HOW MANY of the total Wyoming Republican electorate actually got one of these ‘ballots?’ What percentage actually chose the delegates? Something like 0.03%.

This, like Colorado was nothing more than the GOP acting like a bunch of Union Leaders doing what they damned well wanted, the actual voters be damned.

wasted time and money on campaign........

how about all the others dropped out and still running, who wasted even more money, and some have run previously wasting time and money!

None have accomplished as much as Trump has for this country in so little time with such little expense. His campaign has been successful even if he should not receive the nomination. I’m really grateful he is running he’s stimulated conversations that needed to be and brought to brighter light so much that was shadowy.

The others have nothing good to show for their time and effort, truly wasted time, money and more.

It is the voters vs. the GOP insiders.

Trump supporters are heroic and courageous. Stay stand up the Soros paid thugs, physical attacks at rallies, the vandalism and the threats.

They are continually insulted by the media, the Republican politicians and pundits.

They are called Nazis, Brown shirts, racists, ignorant and every other possible insult.

But they still stand up for their beliefs.

Trumps opponents believe in nothing. They are trying to destroy America. They oppose securing the border, protecting our veterans, keeping jobs in America, interrogating terrorists and fighting Jihadists.

They refuse any substantive discussion of the problems facing our country. They resort to insults through surrogates in the media.

They support the BLM thugs and other Soros paid operatives who physically attack Trump supporters.

And they try to gain delegates through insider maneuvering rather than taking their case to the people.

Cruz is just a tool these insiders are using to destroy Trump.

GOP Convention Official Randy Evans: 1,100 Mark Should Be Enough For Trump
Newsmax.com ^ | Sandy Fitzgerald
Posted on 4/17/2016, 6:34:32 AM by RoosterRedux

If Donald Trump “hits the 1,100 mark,” he’ll likely easily “cobble together” enough unbound delegates to clear the 1,237 hurdle to cinch the GOP nomination, Republican National Convention Rules Committee member Randy Evans tells Newsmax TV.

In an interview Thursday with “Newsmax Prime” host J.D. Hayworth, the Georgia Republican who also chairs the Republican National Lawyers Association says the pool of unbound delegates could total between 150-200. Evans created a media buzz in remarks earlier Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program by suggesting coming within spitting distance of the mandated 1,237 delegates would be good enough to win the party’s nod.

“You still have to have 1,237 no matter what,” Evans tells Hayworth. “It’s just my experience in the certain areas we run, all reflect that he should be able to cobble together the extra 137 delegates because there’ll be about 150 to 200 delegates floating around that are unbound.”

“He should be able to make it if he hits the 1,100 mark,” Evans predicted.

Glenn Downs, congressional expert and former House chief of staff, says, however, getting to that final point will prove if Trump really knows the art of the deal.

“In past conventions, if you get within spitting distance, everybody can see, it’s like a ‘gimme’ when you’re playing golf…,” he said. “This is not other situations, the powers that be in Washington… just despise the idea of Donald Trump as the Republican nominee…. We’ll find out in that kind of scenario what kind of dealmaker Mr. Trump really is.”

*snip*

“The real question is, are there party leaders, say a party chairman, with a large delegation of unbound delegates who says ‘I’d like to see my senator be your running mate.’ In those situations, it’s pretty easy to cobble together 137 votes.”

unreal. how the heck has he managed in business? maybe because he grew up in that domain so he didn’t have to learn a new domain. its pretty obvious he is a “big picture” “non detail oriented” guy. he just makes his big statements and expects all “his” smart people to figure out the details.

you might be hearing this but you know....it takes relationships to win all these caucuses. and that is something DT is not willing to do....get in there, get dirty and make relationships. maybe he feels like it is beneath him. i have always said if he wins the nomination i will vote for him but he really reminds me of Obama. just different world view on finance.
