The money quote:
“Media reports indicate that Cruz has an edge over Trump when it comes to rounding up delegates, which could potentially deliver him the nomination.

But many of the delegates interviewed by The Hill said the Trump campaign has a more active operation than has been reported.”

Townhall is spiking the ball too soon. Manfort seems very confidant for a guy who’s supposedly losing all over the place.

GOP Convention Official Randy Evans: 1,100 Mark Should Be Enough For Trump

If Donald Trump “hits the 1,100 mark,” he’ll likely easily “cobble together” enough unbound delegates to clear the 1,237 hurdle to cinch the GOP nomination, Republican National Convention Rules Committee member Randy Evans tells Newsmax TV.

In an interview Thursday with “Newsmax Prime” host J.D. Hayworth, the Georgia Republican who also chairs the Republican National Lawyers Association says the pool of unbound delegates could total between 150-200. Evans created a media buzz in remarks earlier Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” program by suggesting coming within spitting distance of the mandated 1,237 delegates would be good enough to win the party’s nod.

“You still have to have 1,237 no matter what,” Evans tells Hayworth. “It’s just my experience in the certain areas we run, all reflect that he should be able to cobble together the extra 137 delegates because there’ll be about 150 to 200 delegates floating around that are unbound.”

“He should be able to make it if he hits the 1,100 mark,” Evans predicted.

Glenn Downs, congressional expert and former House chief of staff, says, however, getting to that final point will prove if Trump really knows the art of the deal.

“In past conventions, if you get within spitting distance, everybody can see, it’s like a ‘gimme’ when you’re playing golf…,” he said. “This is not other situations, the powers that be in Washington… just despise the idea of Donald Trump as the Republican nominee…. We’ll find out in that kind of scenario what kind of dealmaker Mr. Trump really is.”

*snip*

“The real question is, are there party leaders, say a party chairman, with a large delegation of unbound delegates who says ‘I’d like to see my senator be your running mate.’ In those situations, it’s pretty easy to cobble together 137 votes.”

Then again, the media has been known to lie.

When you sign up as a new Contract Trump Poster, same with Manafort, your primary “to please” target is the DONEald. Fact and honor is not part of the job description.

“Manfort” (quoting you) will only tell Trump
“Its too late”, just before the last penny is grubable from the DONEald. That is what political consultants do.
