KARACHI (Staff Report) A hand grenade exploded inside courtroom in Karachis Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) after a judge asked a police constable if he knew how grenades worked.
The constable, instead of explaining his expertise in weapons and grenade handling to the judge, opted to demonstrate practically by promptly pulling out the pin from the grenade.
This resulted in a loud explosion, injuring five including the judge, the constable and a court clerk.
The blast took place while hearing of a case was underway in courtroom-III. Two policemen and a court clerk were among injured and taken to a nearby hospital for first aid. Courts proceeding was briefly suspended as a result.
According to media reports, the grenade in question was a locally developed bomb which was brought to the courtroom by Investigation Officer Abid Ali as evidence. The bomb was, reportedly, not defused before production in the court.
The police and paramilitary forces in the vicinity immediately surrounded the area after the explosion fearing a terrorist attack and the security forces were put on high alert.
It is safe to say that now the whole court knows how grenades work, including the curious judge.
According to authorities, the constable who apparently knows how grenades work will be punished severely after he recovers from his injuries.

There is a sentence I have never seen before.
“The blast took place while hearing of a case was underway.....”
Probably not hearing it as well now.
Pay attention, because I’m only gonna do this once....

I must have misplaced my Urdu translation guide. Can anyone translate “Oh sh*t” into Urdu? Anyone? Bueller?
Oh, I am soooo swiping that.....
Working for the Army, I once saw a nerve agent antidote auto-injector on my boss' desk. Since this was an Army civilian, and the only ones they ever had access to were the training simulators (which look real), I picked it up and fooled around with it. Let's just say it's a good thing I didn't stick it into my leg, but instead had it pointing in a safe direction. Turns out he had it from a deployment, and it was the real deal.
In Pakistan they probably ask him if he can drive a truck.

“This is an unloaded gun . . . This is a Glock 40 . . . I’m the only one in this room professional enough, that I know of, to carry a Glock 40.”
BANG!
Eventually, people will learn not to demonstrate things they do not understand.
Feel free. I did.
“Watch closely. I’m only going to show you this once.”
All right, all of you smart-alec nay-sayers. Did the constable have a grenade? Did he know how to pull out the pin? Did the grenade detonate?
Then, yes, he was an expert.
so, no, he doesn’t know how they work.
so, no, he doesnt know how they work.
