Cruz will be counted out before the end of the first round.

No TKO either. It’ll be a KO of the Dime Minister of Canada.

If it goes to a second ballot, the GOPe will have no use for Cruz at that point.

Cruz is not going to be the nominee, no way no how. It will either be Trump or an establishment hack like Kasich or Ryan.

Cruz has not been running to be nominee for some time now - all he is running for is to spoil Trump’s chances, full stop.

Cruz on the second ballot

Never going to happen.

Not on the second, third or fourth.

If they succeed in taking down Trump, they will then take down Cruz, and it will be much easier. You can count on that.

Cruz is either going to decide he will stop being the GOPe new fair haired butt boy, or he will go down as one of the most hated figures in the history of the right this country has ever had.

Time to wake up from delusions of grandeur.

You heard it here first.

Don't flatter yourself. We've heard it from every zombie Cruzite for months.

It's Cruz's only play, since he can't win outright.

Yes, I think so, too.

Kasich is hard wired into the establishment. He is absolutely right. If either Trump or Cruz do not get the needed delegates they will never see the nomination, NEVER! They are both way too dangerous for the establishment.

If they are both short of the goal, they had better learn to bury the hatchet and join up before the convention n a ticket or suffer the consequences of being on the outside looking in.

The Establishment would rather lose in a landslide with a third option and take the Clinton crumbs than risk having Trump or Cruz as president and flipping over their cushy apple cart.

Bank on it!

Cruz is sweeping nothing. This is the work of the GOPe machine using party insiders who have been in place since before the primaries began. They may claim they are for Cruz for the slow learners but the fact is they have no loyalty to Cruz. This is why the GOPe is so smug they have control of the nomination process Wake up Cruzers, your boy was taken over by the GOPe and is nothing more then a Rino Nominating political machine now.

Pretty much. If Sleazy tRump doesn't win it on the first ballot(and he won't), Cruz takes it on the second or at the worst third ballot. Neither Sleazy tRump nor Kasich have had the ground game to work on the delegates, something Ted Cruz has been doing for months. I would refer anyone to Colorado, Indiana over last weekend.

If Cruz keeps Trump from the 1237 on the first ballot, than Cruz would have served his purpose for the GOP establishment. They have absolutely zero intention of nominating him and they will cast him aside like yesterday's Sunday Globe.

More likely scenario is that Cruz is mathematically eliminated from the 1237 later this month and then makes a deal with Trump to lock the establishment out of the nomination process. Between the two of them, they will control at least 1800 delegates.

Unless of course, Cruz labors under the delusion that your fantasy scenario might come to pass.

Cruz is rapidly becoming the most despised republican politician in America. He is a liar, corrupt to the core and as dirty as can be.

Ping to #97

We have been warned again and again that the establishment will subvert BOTH Cruz and Trump.

We aren’t listening.

Here it is being said again by a card carrying member of the establishment.

Trump on the first ballot. No need to hear it here first, everyone already knows it.

“Cruz on the second ballot. You heard it here first.”

Okay... WHY?

If the delegates pick a candidate other than the front runner (who, you must admit, will probably be Trump) the only reason for doing so is that they do not consider the front runner to be the strongest candidate against the Democrat.

Do you wish to argue that Ted Cruz, who’s only supported by the far right (and most certainly will continue to be) has more crossover (and thus wider) appeal than Donald Trump? I can’t see ANY way in which he would be a stronger candidate against Hillary, so I can’t see ANY reason why delegates would put him in a position to run against her.

As for Kasich, I’m not sure if he’s delusional or just coming up with BS to cover the fact that he has absolutely NO reason (other than a spoiler) to remain in this race. Kasich, too, doesn’t have a prayer against Hillary.
