Cruz's reception in New York was chilly.
Back in January, Ted Cruz made the mistake of assuming the rest of America still hates New York. His dismissal of "New York values" didn't endear him to the Empire State Governor Cuomo demanded an apology from Cruz, and the New York Daily News did what the New York Daily News does best and as expected, the comment came back to haunt him as he campaigned in the Bronx on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, at a massive rally in Long Island, Donald Trump, who's polling ahead of Cruz in New York by a wide margin, used the senator's remarks against him. "Do you remember during the debate when he started lecturing me on New York values like we're no good?" Trump asked the crowd. "Folks, I think you can forget about him."

See post 12.
Upper state New Yorkers aren't all progressives.....they have other "values" then NY City Liberals......The "blue-state-conservatives" reject the liberal values espoused by their state's politicians........Remember it was Gov. Cuomo that told them.." there is no place in New York for conservatives."......They're showing otherwise as they began going into to hear Cruz....
“Trump: I am pro-life.”
Really? Here are his own words ...
TRUMP: Well, look. Im very pro-choice.
RUSSERT: Or ban partial-birth abortion.
TRUMP: No
“Ted insulted the whole state on national television. “
Uh, no. You were only insulted in you voted for communist De Blasio ...
Trump still has a chance to get 1273 before this is over.
You got that right. But then Trump is a Democrat.
Yeah yeah yeah. He has won texas, Oklahoma, Utah and Wisconsin. I am highly impressed. Lol.
See? Now you're lying.
Trump wasn't the top vote-getter in any of the three. So let's go by the standard already in place instead of inventing new ones that favor Trump.
satan always overplays his hand.
New York is ranked #1 in political corruption.... is ranked the worst state in America for taxpayers....and excessive regulations have us ranked dead last in “freedom”...
Is it these “values” driving the consistent exodus of taxpayers out of New York State.... from 2000-2010, 3.4 million residents ‘moved out of New York’...Plus... the it was featured 3rd in Forbes as The States People are Fleeing in 2014.
Nothing there to toot about I’d say.
Trump took some very unpopular (to the media) stands that were tactically foolish but strategically smart. He also got involved in very odd tactical engagements for seemingly no reason (Megyn Kelly and Cruz birtherism, for instance). He’s a mix, but I’ve watched Cruz step on his crank for years due to his lack of strategic foresight. He’s completely isolated himself in the Senate as a result.
Good grief, man. He gave you the link. Trump said it. It is Trump's own words.
Some folks just don't get it. They just can't wrap their heads around around the fact this has been one big epic con-job. Others are in on the charade for their own self interest. The jig is up.
Do you really expect this from people who make it up as they go?
Nothing deceptive about it....it’s the game...and one the Trump wasn’t prepared to play for the long haul. So he’s buckling down at the last moment to catch up.
Everybody who was informed knows this goes to convention if the delegate count isn’t reached....everybody but Trump who ignored his manager who told him as much.
The last Presidential races were won by the “hope and change” candidate.... make no mistake about it Trumps daily hoo-rahs are of similar progressive deception.
What was Trumps speech when he arrived back in his home state.....just rattling on and on “Lyin Ted, Lying Ted, Lyin Ted”.... Attack, attack, attack. ...No policy messages, no intelligent messages at all!
Did Cruz isolate himself or was he abandoned by the very GOPe establishment in the Senate that we all deplore? And are we not hypocrites for deploring these craven senators who abandoned Cruz and then in the next breath fault Cruz for not prevailing when he opposes those establishment senators?
Do we resemble more stalwart conservatives who stood with Cruz like Senator Lee of Utah or do we resemble more the craven senators who abandoned him?
I know whom Donald Trump resembles and it is an unflattering image.
This from another part of the post which I originally had quoted:
Trump supporters spend a lot of time castigating the GOPe, and there is much to decry, but they ought to ask themselves what sort of message are they sending to freshly elected conservative Representatives and Senators who see how fickle the conservative base is when it comes to supporting a man who stood on the floor of the Senate all night with a urine bag tied to his leg fighting for that conservative base. These newly elected representatives and senators will conclude, and rightly so, that there is no upside in fighting the good fight against the establishment in Washington because the base will desert them to go whoring after a mountebank who shows them a little leg.
Buts Trumps winning.
