[Donald] Trumps second-place finish to Sen. Ted Cruz (Tex.) in Tuesdays Wisconsin Republican primary may represent no ordinary setback, write the Washington Posts Karen Tumulty, Jose A. DelReal and Robert Costa. It appears to be a pivot pointalthough it has yet to be seen whether the trajectory from here points downward or upward.
~snip~
The last time he faced the prospect of venturing into hostile territorywhen his rally in Chicago was overrun by left-wing disruptorshe ended up bugging out. If he fails to secure a majority of delegates, perhaps rather than endure defeat in Cleveland he will find a way to withdraw ungraciously before the convention.

The only agreement I have with your point is that yes, I want Ted to stay in and block Trump’s path to victory.
Not for the sake of the GOP-e or for any other reason except Trump is no conservative.
At least you are honest about that but the reality of the situation is, you ARE helping the left and GOPe.
Trump may not be as conservative as you would like but Cruz has turned out to show he is not the principled conservative everyone thought he was, myself included, by taking in the GOP establishment and helping them to their goals of dividing the base and trying to get his to a contested convention.
Ted Cruz is a huge hypocrite as his platform was to take on the establishment but now has invited them in and doing their dirty work for them.
Oh and you really need to stop reading the leftists/media/GOPe narrative of Trump because he is nowhere near as bad as some portray here. His platform would be very good for America and as an outsider, would not be subject to Wall St handlers (like Ted Cruz is now) and their agenda.
Trump is the only one that can get us to a real opposition party because his presidency would be the end of the GOPe as we know it. Then true conservatism would have a chance at surviving in this country. Trump may not be a true conservative but he is the only one who could lay the ground work for conservatism to survive.
Think long and hard about being on the corrupted side of things or the side that would have a chance for conservatism that would have a chance to eventually defeat statism.

Have you seen my post 68 of this thread?
Tell me that line of thought wasn’t prevalent about Trump last year. It was.
And as things are shaping up - I can see those concerns back then are valid today.
Face it. I don’t trust Trump. And neither do most conservatives and even many Republicans.
Maybe if Cruz supporters would admit that trump supporters have some reasons for their distrust of Cruz, and trump supporters would admit that Cruz supporters have some validity in their view that trump is a risk, there might be a possibility of a good outcome.
Both are flawed candidates. Both have large egos. certainly the advocates of both have made good arguments as to why the opposite candidate is bad or flawed. seriously I see both sides.
Fact is if either is nominated with the support of the other we all lose. There may be bad blood between them, but for the good of the nation they must put it behind themselves at the convention.
simple as that.
Perhaps the discussion should be more in line as to what a dual ticket would look like. Best I can see on the current trajectory is Trump as P and Cruz and VP with an understanding that in places important to Cruz that he gets something. Then in 4 years when trump resigns crus gets his chance.
Now if you think about this that even favors the Cruz folks that want to see social changes to moves the country to the right. In order for that to occur, you need a groundswell of approval for the right. That is not going to occur unless you have a realignment and resolution of the immigrant/employment issues. A better economy will give the right a chance to move things rifle. if trump succeeds then Cruz would have a chance on abortion, rolling back gay marriage etc. He would be the right candidate for that
He is not the candidate to make a realignment like Reagan did possible, unless things are really different in the rest of the nation as regards the ground swell of anti-left policies. Right now folks see those social issues as secondary to other more pressing ones such as a job and are we even a nation.
If that seems to favor trump, well he cannot do it without Cruz, he simply looses the right and folks that view him as personally corrupt. They do not trust him, with good reason. But they might pull the lever if it helps get Cruz elected in 4 years.
Oh by the way , if Crus goes into the convention with more delegates, then the P and VP are reversed, with trump given some assurances one or two of his planks are acted on
If things continue as they are, all this arguing will not help move the nation in the right direction at all.
Give the other side the benefit of the doubt. Unity forward is the only conceivable path forward.
You, myself and others have warned from the get-go that Trump = Perot results 2.0, by design or not.
*Let’s Not forget that Trump took up Perot’s NY Reform Party in 1999.
Trump may actually be a good guy with his heart in the right place, flaws and all.
I want to believe his rhetoric on illegal immigration, trade, and US jobs.
However look at this candidacy outcome -
Establishment republican party leaders are threatening to use a contested convention in opposition to the will of party voters (assuming trends favor Trump).
It looks like the GOPe really does want to throw the election to the democrats, one way or another.
Just like when they ran Dole in 1996, and McCain in 2008.
The fix may be in...
Here’s why Donald Trump is really starting to scare at least one prominent Republican (Perot 2.0)

By even his own admission, Donald Trump has only a 10-20% chance of becoming the country’s next president. And most Republicans don’t consider him a threat to win the nomination. But at least one prominent Republican figure is starting to worry that Trump could end up on the general-election ballot in another way: by running as a third party candidate. At a meeting of Republican strategists and lobbyists reported by the New York Times on Thursday, former Republican congressman Thomas Davis raised the possibility that Trump could play spoiler as a third-party candidate. “You’ve got to keep him in the...

DALLAS The Perot Foundation of Dallas Texas today announced a $1 million gift to Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas to support the nonprofits essential health care and education services for low-income and uninsured Texans. More than 95% of Planned Parenthood of Greater Texas services are basic, preventive health care, including lifesaving breast and cervical cancer screenings, birth control, and testing and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases. For nearly 100 years Planned Parenthood has helped to educate men and women regarding family planning and general family health, said Margot Perot. Our family has supported this nonprofit for many years because...
These clowns are so desperate to derail Trump that any news of him losing delegates (however few it is) is considered “good news”.
No Trumpbot here by any means, but I can’t believe this was published in the WSJ, or I guess, yeah, I can. A total load of horsecrap.
Obama is now joined the entire RINO wing of the uniparty in trying to stop Trump. So how does it feel to be on the same side Obama, Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, Lindsey Gram, Paul Ryan, Carly Fiorina, Nicky Haley, Golden Sachs, The Club for Growth and the entire globalist GOPe establishment?
Are you happy to be on the side of globalist RINO fighting against patriotic American trying to preserve our constitutional republic? Do you enjoy seeing this once proud nation over run by legal and illegal 3rd world migrants. Do you think its great that the globalist are deindustrializing the USA sending thousands of factories and millions of jobs overseas? You must since that is the side you are standing with.
Lol! Thanks!
:)
all delegates will be for sale. Who wins?
Hardly....we are laughing .....
No, next stupid question.
Great work.
It could happen.
Put down the bong
That’s because they know Cruz will tear them a new one with his answer. Cruz scares the crap out of the media, that is why they don’t interview him. His intelligence is so far above them they shudder the very idea of having to ask him questions.
As for Trump, they know Trump will continue responding like spoiled brat.
Globalist Cruz getting hard questions from the Globalist press? Bet you did not see how fail his campaigning today was in NY, not even a hundred people showed up, But then The Globalist Press runs cover for the Globalist lawyer.
We the people will not revolt. They will sit there watching Dancing with the Stars and playing with their Iphones and little games and go on about their lives.
Know why?
Because they could care less and their memory is about 2 seconds long.
As long as gas is below 10 bucks and the microwave works, life is gooooood.
And I am not sure what train you plan on getting on, Amtrak will not get you where you want to go.
