Wednesday, April 6, 2016, beginning at 7:00 PM EDT, GOP Presidential candidate Donald Trump will hold a campaign rally in Bethpage, NY at Grumman Studios. With two weeks to go until the New York primary on April 19, this will be Mr. Trump’s first campaign event in his home state of New York.

Bethpage is a hamlet located on Long Island within the Town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County, New York, United States, as well as a census-designated place with borders slightly different from those of the hamlet. Population: 16,429.

Trump should be entering friendly territory in his home state. The GOP-e does not have the infrastructure it has in Wisconsin, due to the overwhelming Democrat dominance. Although Wisconsin, like Michigan, Pennsylvania, and, in the last two election cycles, Ohio, regularly votes for the Democrat in Presidential elections, the GOP often holds the governorship and one or both houses of the legislature. New York has had only one Republican governor, Pataki, in the last 30 years, and the Democrats dominate the legislature, as well as the Federal congressional delegation. Lacking the ability to perform favors for financial contributors and provide patronage for supporters, the New York GOP elite is weak and less able to thwart Trump.

Long Island is a good place for a Trump rally. The largest population element are whites of Italian, Irish, and mid-European ancestry. The demographics include a higher than average proportion of people over 50. These are the children and grandchildren of the New York City residents of the early and mid-20th Century. They are from family backgrounds similar to Trump's own. Nassau and Suffolk Counties have not done well economically compared with the rest of the New York metro area or the coastal Northeast in general. The area never recovered fully from the post-Cold War loss of much of its aircraft industry. It recently lost its NHL franchise, and many of its young people have moved to Manhattan, Brooklyn, and more distant points. As a result, Long Island should be an area hospitable to Trump.

I thought it was great that Trump won Ryan’s hometown, especially with all the negative ads and the huge Walker/Ryan organization in place across WI.

Just saw this article - Trump is going to start giving policy speeches. The article indicates that he and Dr. Ben speak from time to time and that they discussed potential SCOTUS nominees and Ben is very happy with Trump’s picks.

From the WaPo article:
“Among the topics he will discuss are how to strengthen the
nation’s military, specific education reforms and the criteria by which a President Trump would select Supreme Court justices.
The campaign hopes to stage those speeches in settings such as economic clubs in various cities and possibly the National Press Club in Washington, Lewandowski said.”

And I notice the dearth of polls prior to races. Only pro-Cruz polls coming out. That’s so they can cheat without so much public exposure.

Don’t know what we can do about it but it is in our face.

Where I grew up.

I work just down the run and we got tickets. Hopefully that means that we get in.

We also had tickets for last Monday's Kasich televised town hall at the Paramount in Huntington, but we were turned away along with a couple of thousand others. We were thinking that nobody would go.

BTW, I'm a Cruz supporter.

Trump said earlier he was going to ask Heritage foundation for a list of potential jurists?. Maybe Ben is just going to check over them ?

Morning all
Weston posted this on last nights thread. It may be the most important video you share. Share with friends and any media you may know.
I KNOW in fact it’s true. Indiana Secretary of State decertified this machine in 2011 I actually watched from the other side of a large room our county clerk and tech perform the same test. It is how Obama won his elections.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=ckwYu1bqUTk

So was only this particular brand machine decertified? Now I am wondering if my county uses this brand...looks very very similar :(

I thought the paper ballots were safer from fraud perspective, now I don’t think so :(

I have a friend who’s husband was a poll worker this year, I will send to him to see what he says.

It sure has opened my eyes, too! I had no idea about some of the shenanigans, wheeling-dealing for delegates, etc.

BTW - not sure if it’s true or not, but I read on a thread on FR the other day that while it’s illegals to pay-off candidates, etc., it is not illegal to barter with/give some sort of “compensation” to delegates.

What qualifications does Cruz have to be President. He’s never run a business, made a payroll, has no executive experience, and no success in Senate. He’s just another professional candidate.

I bring this up because Cruz got this far pretending to be the outside, the patriot who stands up against the establishment. That was his only qualification. Now that he is 100% establishment, how can they push him?

I will not be listening to Rush today. He’s going to be orgasmic over this Cruz win and will be unlistenable; even more than usual lately.

I lived in North Merrick for awhile when I was little. I see he’ll appear at Grumman studios. Do they still have a strong Defense presence in Bethpage?

It's down to 300 people.

To the "Clutch my Pearls" gals here....

On one of the threads a few weeks ago, someone asked me if I have pearls.. HA.. yes I do. BUT not the top flight quality that some of you have as heirlooms and with other precious stones and metals.

An most of my pearls are in the "undeveloped state" of use as you can see

This is some of the Pearl "product" that I have at hotel.. more at home. Some are antiques in that they were owned /worn in 20s - 50s. I get them(not just pearls but all sorts of beaded jewelry) at yard and estate sales, antique shops and now and then from friends who just want to clear out jewelry from decades past... often from mom's or grandmas.

On occasion I will make them treasure ropes with a compilation of their jewelry so they have one creative necklace/earring set from all the hodge lodge they had from mom/etc.

Ill keep the rest for my stock for whenever use.

I prefer using a nice quality of bead like this over the ones you can get in a bead shop

Of course Freshwater pearls are the sweetest and I use them with the semiprecious stones in beaded jewelry. But they are as a rule smaller and very irregular in shape.

As you can see beads come in all variations of white/cream/tinges of : Pink, tan, grey also.

A favorite thing to do with these pearls is to combine them with gold plate, quality crystal and an occasional semiprecious "birthstone"... the tad of color and personalization for the lady wearing them is very attractive..

I have this all out as i am working on a project right now and I have to see what I have that is usable. Some of the older beads are gorgeous but cracked and peeled finish. Must cull.

Now that you mention it, I do recall Trump asking Heritage.
Per the article, Ben seemed to approve of the potential SCOTUS nominees.

I hope the list includes other jurists besides just for SCOTUS (not that Trump needs to mention those now). The whole lib lawyer-infested DOJ needs to be cleaned out as do some other Federal judges.
