The DNS server should be working now. Woo hoo!
Dumb-dumb out of date records error led to administrative hold. John finally got them to update and release the hold. Long convoluted story, but that's not important. What's important now is that we're up and running just in the nick of time for Wisconsin.
Thanks Jim! Panic attacks and withdrawal twitches here.
I’ll loan you one of mine. Would it matter if it was 3.11? ;-)
THANK YOU. As you can probably tell, I am technically challenged and not at all knowledgeable about the failings of my computer at times like this. (I’m embarrassed to admit that at first I thought I might need a new computer!)
Yes. we’re back, and the libs are deeply saddened.
THANK YOU
Didn’t think I would make it thru the withdrawals ...
Very Glad I got my FR fix back.
So the rapture DIDN’T happen?
Depends on your comfort level..
As long as FR IP address doesn't change, leaving it as is won't hurt anything. If anything, it may shave a little time off of page load since you will be eliminating a couple of steps of the lookup process. Or you can go back to the hosts file and comment out the line (put a # in front of it) so if something similar happens again all you need to do is 'uncomment' the line. Or you can remove the line in the hosts file entirely.
I am leaving it in there for now. If for some strange reason things start messing up I'll revisit that thought.
These FR withdrawals are just too much for me!
What a relief, thanks so much!!
WHEW! Thanks to everyone!
Thanks Jim-—it was a dreadful 24 hours.
.
I couldn’t imagine what happened. Glad it was a minor detail.
I missed you. I sorted my sock drawer three times.
Thanks for keeping me informed. The best.
I thought it was one of those Vast Left Wing Conspiracies, cobbled together by one of Hillary’s noxious flying monkeys.
So glad you’re back!
First my Yahoo was misbehaving, then AOL was being very sluggish, then I tried to get into FR 5 times to wait out the issues at Yahoo and AOL, AND IT WASN’T EVEN THERE!!
So I decided to see if Google was working and I found the link below were over a dozen people said yes there is a real problem with FR. People from Maryland to California and in between.

I saw your fix (thank you), employed it and it worked.
What happens if I don’t undo it?
Back, and better than ever! Whewww!
I couldn’t take it being down anymore and jumped off the Verrazano.
Luckily I caught a tide back to Staten Island. :)
“Cool. It worked fine on my phone but failed on my laptop.”
My phone too as long as I took it off wi-fi.
