Gov. Jerry Brown, casting a living wage as a moral imperative while questioning its economic rationale, signed legislation Monday raising Californias mandatory minimum to $15 an hour by 2022, acting within hours of a similar bill signing in New York.
The bills enactment comes one week after Brown, Democratic lawmakers and labor leaders announced an agreement on the wage increase, averting a brawl on the November ballot.

In adopting the measure, California joined New York as the first states in the nation to enact a plan to raise their statewide minimums to $15. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed his states legislation and was cheered by labor unions at a rally moments before Brown spoke in California.

Well, I’ve never been to England
But I kinda like the Beatles
Well, I headed for Las Vegas
Only made it out to Needles
Can you feel it?
Must be near it
Feels so good
Oh, it feels so good
Yep, and the illegals working for cash under the table will take even more US jobs.
You are a bright-eyed optimist.
that’s what will really happen. drive more jobs underground.
Maybe it’s not too late to invest in automated (customer self-serve) kiosks for quick-serve restaurants. Such devices cost less than $15 an hour (over time) and are never late.
Watch the small businesses leave California.
How long ‘til the CA Leftistlature bans installation of kiosks if it will cost jobs?
This move will be called ...THE MEXICAN MAGNET.
Not to mention the price of gas
Went through there a couple weeks ago. $0.60 drop crossing the state line.
“many legal people actually only earn minimum wage”
I have read 2 million. This means, from my point of view, over 600,000 will loose their jobs as follows:
I have 3 employees I pay $10/hr.
I have to pay $15/hr. I fire one employee and the total wages are still the same.
Is your gnomes name by any chance Chomsky?
Just wonderin’

So this weekend I was driving in a neighboring town and saw where the job has been replaced by a machine.
Told my teenage son that this is what happens when they raise minimum wages.
Liberals are stuck up pigs. No jobs not worth $15/hr is allowed to be performed in Kali. So, an $8/hr job or a $5/hr job is forbidden in Kali by the liberals.
Liberals HATE low wage people. They are snooty stuck ups.
Liberals are the most fascist, hate-filled, mean-spirited, envious, resentful, vicious, close-minded, violent, murdering, censoring, horse-punching, book-burning, ignorant, uneducated, unskilled, childish, prejudiced, racist, women-hating, man-hating, perverted, thieving, destructive, American-hating, Christian-hating, muslim-loving, communist, vulgar, dirty, smelly, regressive, restrictive, prohibitive, bed-wetting, cop-killing, and scared little lying thumbsucking idiots God has ever created.
These fools never get it. When that $15 an hour kicks in all that extra money-—if they managed to keep their job will be taken up in higher costs on everything from food to clothes and the result, they are right back where they started.
Liberal economics=spreading the misery around.
I dont know where you gassed up but. On the Bullhead Parkway, there is a Maverick station that is the cheapest around.
In Kingman, the Safeway or Smiths-Stockton Hill Rd, or the Maverick/truck stops on route 66 east-Andy Devine.
Most Americans though can’t figure out this simple arithmetic when it comes to minumum wages.
No matter what truth you reveal about popular liberals, the American people will always seem them as “caring” about them.
