On the eve of the Wisconsin primaries, top Republicans are becoming increasingly vocal about their long-held belief that Speaker Paul Ryan will wind up as the nominee, perhaps on the fourth ballot at a chaotic Cleveland convention.
One of the nations best-wired Republicans, with an enviable prediction record for this cycle, sees a 60 percent chance of a convention deadlock and a 90 percent chance that delegates turn to Ryan ergo, a 54 percent chance that Ryan, wholl start the third week of July as chairman of the Republican National Convention, will end it as the nominee.

Ryan is a good choice for the role of Designated Loser. Hes been there before and hell do it with style.

Its the GOP Way. lol
He is out gunned
Isn’t this a ploy to get Wisconsin voters to vote against Trump with the belief their homeboy will be ge next president? Surely, they’re not that stupid. It would be tge worse defeat for pubs in history. Not only the WH, but the pubs would lse both houses of congress.
They are working on burning themselves to the ground. They love throwing gas on a barnfire.
You hittin the sauce pretty early today huh? For the sake of Pete, why would Trump drop out when he has more delagates than Saint Rafael Eduardo Cruz of Calgary? Get a grip.
Although I’m not a fan of Cruz at least he and Trump are field tested and battle hardened. Can’t say the same about Ryan who lets others do the heavy lifting then sneaks in at the end of the marathon aka Rosie Ruiz
Cruz is indeed working it for the nomination—and I wouldn’t rule him out as quickly as the GOPe are presently.
His undermining of the Trump delegate wins by getting his people into Trump’s delegate spots could make a difference conceivably 1) in the writing of the rules for the convention, and 2) in getting to a majority on a 2nd or 3rd or later ballot. The more Cruzites and second-choice Cruz sympathizers in Trump’s delegate pool, the more likely that Cruz could wrestle the nomination from the GOPe—should Trump not clinch it on the now all-important first ballot for him.
I think Trump is the only chance the GOP has in November, since he could put some big blue and purple states into play—and neither Cruz nor Ryan is likely to do that.
So Wisconsin, I beg you—haven’t you inflicted enough on the country already with Ryan and Priebus? Please, please, please come to your senses in voting tomorrow and give Trump an almost assured first ballot victory.
The GOPe is fine with that. They want to return to the days of being a permanent minority. There will be still gobs of money for them, but they won't have to worry about pesky things like governing or explaining to their Democrat betters how the conservatives got out of their cages.
You have to look at what they're doing not from the standpoint of a party trying to win, but from the standpoint of a set of elites maintaining their standing within the larger elite club.
Yes, I know ‘they hate each other’ etc. etc., but they certainly wouldn't be the first ticket for which that was true.
And what a suicide that would be!
Oh, there’s that about Ryan being a complete Dem/Establishment/amnesty sellout, too.
May be. There is the law of unintended consequences. Ted was shocked that Mitch lied to him to get his vote. He ain’t as smart as some claim
Remind us what was the national debt when Ryan entered office and what it is now and what he has done about it
And if he wanted to be president, wth didn’t he RUN
All the suckers who watched and scored “ debates”, put the candidates under fire to explain their views, stood in line for hours for campaign rallies or at ballot boxes , donated money .....
FOR THIS?
NawHellNo
I sure don’t want Ryan. What kind of message does it send when these candidates and their backers have worked for the nomination, along with so many making donations in the millions of dollars and the GOPe just chooses who it wants? It’s outright theft and outright tyranny and definitely unAmerican.
I’m sure I along with millions hate that bastard Ryan.....and he’s the Biggest Loser.....Even Joe Blow Biden beat him in a debate........
If your going to be insulting, at least learn to spell. It’s Trumpeteer.
Maybe that’s the pale horse prophecy that Ted is supposed to fulfill
The obvious trouble is that Cruz would, as the younger guy by far, be the obvious veep—and that unfortunately doesn’t fit with Cruz’s ambition (or understanding of the political landscape—as getting in first as veep is the the only way I see him ever making it to the top.
Totally ridicules statement. Your guy is backed by Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, Lindsey Gram, Paul Ryan, Carly Fiorina, Nicky Haley, Mitch McConnell, Golden Sachs, The Club for Growth and the entire globalist GOPe. Every RINO on the planet sans John McCain.
My guy is backed by Sarah Palin, Jeff Session, Ben Carson, Chris Christy, Ann Coulter, Laura Ingraham, Rick Scott, Jerry Falwell, Phyllis Schlafly, Clint Eastwood, Bruce Willis and Lou Dobbs.
Cruz is owned by the GOPe (the Club). It is so obvious now that only kool aid drinkers deny it.
