Cruz snaring Trump's Arizona delegates
Washington Examiner ^ | 04/04/16 | David M. Drucker

Sen. Ted Cruz is out-hustling Donald Trump and looks set to ensure many Arizona delegates will defect to him in a convention floor fight.

The Texas senator, who ever since Iowa has played a stealthy ground game in contrast to Trump's chaotic populism, is taking steps to snatch the Republican presidential nomination from The Donald at the convention in July.

The New York businessman easily won last month's Arizona primary taking 47 percent to Cruz's 25 percent, scooping up all 58 of the state's delegates. That's nearly 5 percent of the 1,237 Trump needs for the nomination, and they're tied are to him on the first ballot.

But Cruz, exploiting deep opposition to Trump among grassroots Republicans, has been far more active in Arizona than Trump, insiders say. He's recruiting candidates for the available 55 delegate slots, that along with the other three delegate positions filled by party leaders, would be allowed to vote for him in a multi-ballot contested convention.

Yeah but he is limited to Trump supporters, Cruz supporters rally around the democrat judges that deem he is eligible.

Sorry, I've was watching a some golf.

I'll say it again:
It's like an arrest record -it's gonna stick with him for life.

Now here's the bottom line. When a guy is accused of infidelity, and it can't be proven -nor disproven- there will always be a stigma! And that 'stigma' -is that cloud I've referred to. It'll never go away. Ted will always have a cloud (a stigma) ....hanging over his head. We all have to wonder how many votes Cruz lost for himself -in any and all future elections- because of his past. Because of the stigma. Nothing can change this now. Period!

Now also, if you'll check post #205 by CA Conservative, he said the N E story was "...a one week story."

Yes and this one week story -was talked about and discussed all over our country. It stuck. These allegations, true or not...have painted Cruz as a cheater. And he'll never be able to get that outa folks minds. And to boot -there were eight women- eight different women that he might have been diddlin'. He's done.

Thanks for explaining Trump’s left-wing character assassination tactics against a strong Constitutinnal conservative. Strange that you are cheerleading such tactics.

On one hand they claim that they are mad because Trump cant win and refuses to quit.

On the other hand they say if Cruz gets the nomination they will either let Hillary beat him, refuse to vote, or in extreme cases say they will outright support Hillary, to hurt Cruz.

But if Cruz cant win then the second point makes NO sense

Cruz will not get my vote for doing this.

I’m an Arizona voter. My vote is taken away if my delegate chooses Cruz.

Yes, that means Hillary can become president when a lot of us won’t vote for Cruz. I don’t like being ripped off. You rip me off, I’ll let you get ripped off. Enjoy Hillary.

-"So what is your solution? You want someone who has FAILED to get a majority vote to be automatically made the candidate, in the name of democracy, and voting counts?"

No. I want the guy who got....

... LESS 'delagtes' WON
....LESS 'STATES' WON
....LESS 'MILLIONS' of VOTES WON

than the TOP guy, to get the nomination!

This talk of disenfranchisement is childish. We are selecting delegates to a political convention as we have always done.

Conservatives honoring the constitution have always been in favor of the Electoral College with its insulation from knee-jerk democracy. What is so different about the time honored and slowly evolved process of delegates and nominees?

Cruz isn’t stealing delegates. He is convincing delegates to consider his candidacy after their obligated first vote if no nominee has a majority. Why would he do otherwise? It is a nomination contest.

Does Trump want to win by acclamation? Sure, but he better be prepared to work a delegate campaign if it does not happen.

This rhetoric is heightened and only makes it appear that Trump is lazy.

[America is dead]

Unfortunately, that is true, I’m very, very sorry to say.

Wish it wasn’t true, but each day shows one more (at least) new sleazy or corrupt politician game to usurp the will of the people.

AWESOME!

You know what we really need for a nominee?

Another lawyer who knows how to gyp the voters out of what they voted for.
