For crying out loud. I worked in proposal/design phases of one at least 15 years ago. the big, new and improved detector sat off to the side of the baggage area in Philly Intl. for quite some time.

Translation: One of my donors needs a few billion dollar federal contract, otherwise I wouldn’t care one bit.

Well the ISIS-supporting baggage handlers will never approve of this.

Relax, there’s plenty of that stuff and more, already here. There’s been plenty of time and places to bring it in, safely and get it to where it needs to be. The muzzie-terrorist lab rats are assembling it, the targets are chosen, and cells are awaiting their ‘go orders’.

It must be one of Schumer’s personal investments. Reminds me of the dirtbag, Paulsen that was advising Bush at the end of his term and needed the airport X-Ray machines on line without safeguards, asap to make his millions. They have caught so many terrorists. On the other hand look at the felons and Islamists they have empowered to search us.

The big problem is false positives. Too many from what I hear.

Technology solutions (which are always perishable) to people problems.

The idea is to exclude the people who mean you harm.

Technology actually works to give you a false sense of security that you are being protected, and to amplify the eventual attack. Then government will say “It’s the technologies fault”.

None of it works, not long-term against a diligent enemy you are actually fighting against

Any fool with a University Lab and $50K can make a working prototype, but scaling up for production and the economies of scale requires a substantial investment. Nobody’s putting good money into a bomb-sniffer when they can get 50 times the return by developing cell phone parts.

No money for a border wall, but all kinds of moneys for these stupid domestic surveillance. It is too much for them kicking out 11 million illegals, sp we are going to do surveillance on 300 million

So for the non-nitrogen based explosives. We sure have got the Chucky S. BS detectors for a very long time though.
