Concerns About Paul Ryan Emerging Out of Ted Cruz-Created Contested Convention as Nominee (trunc)
Breitbart ^ | April 2nd, 2016 | by Julia Hahn

Posted on 04/03/2016 9:35:54 AM PDT by Mariner

In recent weeks, there has been increasing discussion about the possibility that House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)could emerge out of a brokered convention as the Republican nominee if the donor class is successful in denying Donald Trump the requisite 1,237 delegates.

Just as Paul Ryan’s ascension to House Speaker represented a total repudiation of the GOP electorate by GOP lawmakers, Ryan’s selection as the Party’s nominee would similarly represent the donor class’s silencing of voters and voters’ views on immigration, trade, and foreign policy that have transformed the country and its role in the world.

Regardless, many in the “#NeverTrump” movement have indicated that they would support Ryan against the wishes of the Republican electorate that has voted for Trump.

“If we don’t have a nominee who can win on the first ballot, I’m for none of the above,” said former House Speaker John Boehner, who exited the House shortly after teaming up with Ryan to give President Obama expanded trade powers. “I’m for Paul Ryan to be our nominee,” Boehner said.

“If it’s an open convention, it’s very likely [the nominee] would be someone who’s not currently running,” Ryan’s fellow Wisconsinite Governor Scott Walker said last week. Walker’s declaration follows an earlier pronouncement that he would be “just fine” with leaving his state’s Sanctuary Cities in place.

You, me and just about everyone I talk to, except some on here, are saying the same thing.

They really think they are Gods gift to the earth.

Yes. Cruz is mental. A know it all. His father taught him how to fabricate and lie as the old man did zip in Cuba except possibly protest. Surely he knew Castro was a commie as my friend who died yesterday in FL told me his parents and everyone in Cuba in the mid to late 50’s knew Castro was a commie.

Rubio, Graham, Jeb and Neal Bush, McCain, Fiorina have all endorsed someone, and he isn't Trump.

So have I and millions of other Cruz supporters. Just because you think Trump is entitled doesn't make it so. He only has 60% of the needed delegates. We will wait and see.

Nobody thinks Trump is entitled, but he is the clear frontrunner. On the other hand it is simple math that Cruz's odds of gaining enough delegates coming into the convention are almost zero.

If the rogues gallery of hacks I listed above had endorsed Trump, I can't imagine what Cruz people would be saying.

QUOTE

“If it’s an open convention, it’s very likely [the nominee] would be someone who’s not currently running,” Ryan’s fellow Wisconsinite Governor Scott Walker said last week. Walker’s declaration follows an earlier pronouncement that he would be “just fine” with leaving his state’s Sanctuary Cities in place.

TRANSLATION

Scott Walker endorsed Ted Cruz. A vote for Ted Cruz in Wisconsin is a vote for sanctuary cities.

QUOTE

...as the now Cruz-backing Walker acknowledged—there’s no guarantee at all on who may emerge as the GOP nominee at that point. It could even be, as Walker said, someone who isn’t currently running: i.e., Paul Ryan.

TRANSLATION

A vote for Ted Cruz in Wisconsin is a vote for Paul Ryan as the nominee in a corrupt brokered convention and a vote for increasing more massive legal and illegal and criminal aliens for the benefactors of cheap labor and the cultural genocide of America which by 2050 will be irrevrrsible.

QUOTE

...not only will Paul Ryan continue to push for massive increases to the already record-breaking pace of migration, but his commitment to large-scale migration means it’s unlikely legislation will pass the House that would reduce immigration growth by curbing visas, which more than 9 in 10 GOP voters want.

TRANSLATION

A vote for Cruz in Wisconsin is a vote for the GOPe that clearly wants to disfranchise the Republican base because their agenda of amnesty, open borders and cheap labor are more important than the will of the people.

QUOTE

However, in order to emerge as the donor class’s savior, Ryan needs to win Wisconsin’s primary election on Tuesday— putting Ryan Republicanism on trial. This effectively means that voters are not casting a ballot between Trump and Cruz, but rather the philosophy of Donald Trump versus Ryanism.

TRANSLATION

Cruz votes In Wisconsin are votes for Ryanism, not conservativism. It is a vote for the disfranchisement of the Republican base and the destruction of the Republican Party which will lose the Presidency and the Senate, Texas will turn from Red to Blue and as a result the Republican Party will never be able to win the Presidency in the electoral college again for the next 100 years. Cruz and those who have no sense in reality by enabling this agenda in supporting Cruz to the bitter end will be held accountable for destroying this country as much if not more than Hillary Clinton or the Democratic Party.

I will hold every Cruzbot responsible for the rest of my living days, and will never, never let them forget what they have done.

And so are Trumps.

Yep, the best anti-GOPe play would be for Trump and Cruz to team up rather than fight each other. Trump could lead the ticket and make a number of offers to Cruz. Nomination for SCOTUS, AG position, etc.

If they work together, the GOPe have to dance to their tune.

The no borders rat Ryan says, "America is more than just a country… It’s more than our borders."

Clearly his more than a country - by having no borders - is in fact no country at all! He's a self-confessed traitor.

“I think you’ve been missing a whole lot of articles on the forum with the GOPe working to make sure a third person gets the nod.”

No, what they are doing is making sure that Trump doesn’t get the nod.

They aren’t trying to deny Cruz the nomination.

Ted is taking a very big risk, that we could all be harmed by, if they GOPe dumps his arse too.

Ted doesn’t know what they have in store for him.

If he does, and has been promised by the GOPe, what does that tell you?

Do you think the GOPe just experienced a conversion to Ted’s beliefs? Not hardly. It’s up to you to figure out whose beliefs were forsaken.

Just don’t be too surprised when Cruz wins on the 2nd or 3rd ballot.

He can/will win on second ballot.

Providing that the delegates give the middle finger to the Base, who actually came out in record numbers to vote.

Cruz can win as long as the base is ignored. That's a hell of a sell. Tell the base to go to Hell in order to win? Wasn't that jeb!s plan?
