Concerns About Paul Ryan Emerging Out of Ted Cruz-Created Contested Convention as Nominee (trunc)
Breitbart ^ | April 2nd, 2016 | by Julia Hahn

In recent weeks, there has been increasing discussion about the possibility that House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI)could emerge out of a brokered convention as the Republican nominee if the donor class is successful in denying Donald Trump the requisite 1,237 delegates.

Just as Paul Ryan’s ascension to House Speaker represented a total repudiation of the GOP electorate by GOP lawmakers, Ryan’s selection as the Party’s nominee would similarly represent the donor class’s silencing of voters and voters’ views on immigration, trade, and foreign policy that have transformed the country and its role in the world.

Regardless, many in the “#NeverTrump” movement have indicated that they would support Ryan against the wishes of the Republican electorate that has voted for Trump.

“If we don’t have a nominee who can win on the first ballot, I’m for none of the above,” said former House Speaker John Boehner, who exited the House shortly after teaming up with Ryan to give President Obama expanded trade powers. “I’m for Paul Ryan to be our nominee,” Boehner said.

“If it’s an open convention, it’s very likely [the nominee] would be someone who’s not currently running,” Ryan’s fellow Wisconsinite Governor Scott Walker said last week. Walker’s declaration follows an earlier pronouncement that he would be “just fine” with leaving his state’s Sanctuary Cities in place.

Do Ted Cruz supporters understand that he is complicit in the plan to aid the GOP_e by denying Trump the requisite 1,237?

Do Ted Cruz supporters also not realize that makes THEM complicit in such a plan?

Most Cruz supporters I see still think he has a chance to win. Unfortunately most don’t follow the specifics of how the process goes as we do, so they see the talking heads on TV/radio and think he’ll be picked.

Who would have thought that Rubio would be the one to drop out when he had no chance, but that Cruz would be the one holding out for the establishment. Didn’t see that coming.

Should Ryan get the nomination by “crooked politics”, you can say “GOOD BYE” republican party. Right now, those who WERE, or still are part of that political group and who are disgusted with the way the Pubies are conducting their pending coup to “dump Trump”, will find that the voters will form a completely new and long overdue political party to replace them. I will be one of those.

I think it is a fair judgment to say that Republicans are working mightily to elect Hillary.

Do Donald Trump and Ted Cruz supporters understand that if they bury the hatchet, they go into the convention with 90% of the delegates and they will set the rules?

Appears not, so let’s blame each other and let the establishment pick the candidate.

Rubio, Graham, Jeb and Neal Bush, McCain, Fiorina have all endorsed someone, and he isn't Trump.

Between Cruz and Trump, I think it's quite clear to anyone with eyes to see who the establishment hates more.

A VOTE FOR TED CRUZ IS A VOTE FOR TED CRUZ.

Your analogy is bogus because Cruz CANNOT win the contest, even with divine intervention.

While not mathematically eliminated, he needs >90% of remaining delegates.

If Ryan or Romney are forced down our throats, a lot of us will just stay home (me included).

If Cruz were actually smart, he would realize exactly what is happening OR, the GOPe has made him one hell of an offer should he lose to Trump in the primaries. We all hear that they don’t like Cruz but remember, he is already a Senator and part of the “party” and Trump IS NOT. They may choose to support the known versus the unknown. At least the can somewhat control what Cruz might do, controlling Trump is a totally different kettle of fish.

Sure, he COULD win on a second ballot...considering all the friends he's made in the GOP.

He's endeared himself to so many...
