The rules for how Republican delegates are selected which differ in every state could end up turning votes for one candidate into delegates who will support another candidate at the convention.

cruz hands his over to Trump seeing as Trump[p has more and the establishment gets a middle finger and I take back what I said about cruz and being the establishment spoiler.
Agree, except they really can’t dictate exactly how the delegate will react and vote once you turn them loose.
Unless the mailman's boy has a hissy fit.
I suspect John won't.

Jedi.
I think Cruz is running for 2020 and will say screw you to Trump.
It’s almost like you need to have a relationship with lots of people in the party in all kinds of states before you should run for its highest office.
Funny.
That’s the plan for winning?
That’s a loser’s plan for obstructing the primary voting process.
Given your plan, we should no longer have a primary election.
Just pick delegates and ship them off with a boat load of cash.
So what’s your plan for Florida’s 99 delegates?
Donald Trump won over a million votes in FL and won every single district in the state, with the exception of one.
Florida Delegates are bound through the 3rd ballot to Trump.
They are free to vote as they please at ballot #4.
There are also a handful of states that around bound through the 2nd vote.
How voters for the republican party can become voters for anyone else for president, senate, congress, and forever.
The GOP already has the 2015 congress, and it looks like the 2016 congress showing voters that we don’t matter a bit. If Trump or Cruz doesn’t get the nomination, the GOP is telling us our votes don’t matter to them just like congress has been saying.
And we don’t want to hear about “rules” that are made to give the RNC control regardless of the voters wishes. The “rule” could be “5 members of the RNC will get together and pick the candidate” and all the #notrump crowd would say “those are the rules, deal with it and shut up”.
If they aren’t going to accept the primary results, they should do away with the primary in 2020 and just let the GOPe select the candidate.
And then Trump can run third party.

As a recovering Republican working on 13 months of sobriety and a Trump supporter I’m just about finished with these people. If Trump gets the 1237 or is close and I get wind of an underhanded scheme to steal the nomination from Trump I will go to the polls, vote for my Congressman a Republican whom I can vote for on a second line and walk out. Even if he is a personal friend if he is only on the Republican line I won’t vote at all. Since I’m in New York it is easy to say this is false bravado but even if I was in a closely contested state I would never vote for another Republican again.
The party maintains power because of their data. Voter lists etc.
When you run third party you are not SUPPOSED to have access to all that.
Why even bother to waste the time and gas to vote? The shyster elites have rigged up a system where THEY are they pick the nominees and the candidates in the general and hence the president.
“We The People” don’t count for bullsquat in the realm of politics.
There ain’t no fixin this kind of problem, both parties are going to have to be torn down and restarted.
Or we need a third party that can force all three to compete again.
Godspeed all!
Trump doesn’t need it.
Maybe others will need it though. If the GOPe give the finger to the voters, a third party will become viable.
“I think Cruz is running for 2020 and will say screw you to Trump.”
Agreed. As Reagan did to Ford in 1976. But unlike Reagan in 1976 I believe Cruz has a chance of taking the nomination this time around.
Once again, they’re telling us that our votes don’t count.
I live in Texas. The republican will win no matter who it is. Therefore I won’t have to waste my gas to go vote.
Now, if they screw Trump and he runs third party, then I’ll donate my gas to the cause.
“But unlike Reagan in 1976 I believe Cruz has a chance of taking the nomination this time around.”
With the GOPe helping him steal delegates that is posible. However I do not like the games being played and what is going on and will only vote for Trump. Screw the GOPe.
