Wisconsin primary as the race for the Republican presidential nomination heads into a critical stage, a new poll released Thursday reveals.
Public Policy Polling's survey of 768 likely Republican primary voters shows Cruz leading by a whisker with 38 percent support, followed by Trump with 37 percent.
But with the survey's margin of error of 3.5 percentage points, the two are in a dead heat, with either senator from Texas or the billionaire businessman in a position to capture all 42 delegates in the winner-take-all contest.

But wait... Fox News has been saying for 2 days now that it’s all over for Trump... women hate him, he’s ten points behind in WI and dropping like a rock... no one likes him... it’s all over for him. Now I’m confused.
Even if Trump wins, I really detest how overhyped Wisconsin’s importance is. It’s not as egregious as Iowa obviously, but the only reason anyone is pretending Wisconsin is super important is because it’s the only state that is voting between March 26 and April 19.
BTTT!
As I understand Wisconsin it isn’t a winner take all state. It’s a winner take most, with some delegates going to the winner of each congressional district. Accordind to the Q poll internals, Trump led in 3 CDs. I’m not sure about the internals in this PPP poll.
This is not credible. No way Cruz could have tanked 10% in just a few days. /s
The majority of female posters are Trump supporters here.
Hey, what happened to Trump 10 points behind?
GO TRUMP!!!!
hmm. a new poll that reflects back to the former poll numbers
makes one wonder where the poll came from a few days ago that showed a 10 point spread, advantage Cruz. Did Trump do something stupendous to make up those 10 points in less than a week? Or did something get wonky?
While Trump only needs 10-12 delegates to stay on target for 1237 (according to fivethirtyeight), he may just win Wisconsin outright. And that would be a very good thing.
I think the real story here is that the entire political establishment media and bloggers, liberal and conservative, have had their guns blazing until they glow read aimed at Trump for a couple of weeks (if not 6 months) and he is still standing tall. A couple of errors on his part, but I don’t think you can fairly call them unforced. The guy has been taking it from all sides.
Wisconsin is proportional, so there will be little in number of delegates received between Trump and Cruz. Sounds like a push.
That’s good to hear, I vote in PA next month, will be my first primary vote in my 32 year long life.
Here is the delegate allocation method.........
42 total delegates - 10 base at-large / 24 re: 8 congressional districts / 3 party / 5 bonus
