White House rips Trump for standing by aide charged with battery

White House press secretary Josh Earnest on Wednesday condemned Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump

Corey Lewandowski is accused of grabbing the arm of a reporter after a Trump press conference in Florida earlier this month.

“I am confident that neither President Obama nor President Bush would tolerate someone on their staff being accused of physically assaulting a reporter, lying about it and then blaming the victim,” Earnest told reporters.

Earnest said Trump's response to the Lewandowski incident, as well his other controversial actions, is "completely outside the realm of acceptable behavior.”

Trump should rip Obama for standing by Hillary.

I was thinking the same thing. A Trump aide should be prosecuted for intervening between his boss and a deranged woman. An Obama aide (Hillary), should face nothing for compromising sensitive government information. Makes perfect sense. Why are they even worrying about this noting event. I would wager that Obama’s Secret Service agents have manhandled a few people a lot worse than this over the last seven years.

Both Secret Service agents had hands on Fields, so they must have been concerned about something. If they didn't actually touch her, they were about to.

When the Secret Service first moves on Fields, Lewandowski was looking away and not yet aware of the situation.

For those who question why the Secret Service let her go in the next still shot, they are not police. Their job is to secure Trump. Trump was walking on, so after they reached for Fields and then she stopped because Lewandowski reached for her, they immediately moved back to surrounding Trump. They would not have detained her if it meant having Trump move beyond their reach. Fields was no longer threatening Trump's protected zone because Lewandowski stopped her.

Also notice that Lewandowski did not yank her back, he just stopped her forward progress. When Trump moved on, so did the Secret Service, followed by Lewandowski.
