Donald Trump on Ted Cruz: "I don't want his support"
(Excerpt) Read more at twitter.com ...
NO!
Attacking our own IS NOT the problem.
Nominating guys like Dole, Bush, McCain, and Romney is the problem.
Infighting didn’t ruin these guy’s chances. Their political philosophy ruined their chances.
None of these men were presidential. None of them had half a clue.
When you can’t beat the likes of Al Gore and John Kerry by more than the skin on your teeth, it’s you and nobody else that is the problem.
When you can’t beat a guy like Obama, you’re a pathetic looser who will go on to endorse other losers.
Trump is not perfect. He’s a lot better than any of these men. He is not a loser. He sets goals and achieves them.
Trump will kick Hillary’s ass, pure and simple.
A question. Does Trump HAVE to win Wisconsin to get to the magic number of delegates to get the nomination. If he doesn’t win it, is he toast?
Anyone have any recent polls on Wisconsin?
I don’t believe he has to win it.
It looks close.
No Trump does not need to win WI. However, Ted Cruz does need to win WI. That is why they are throwing the kitchen sink at Trump like a hail mary pass.
You don't get more establishment than a billionaire businessman lining the pockets of every politician in sight.
That's easy -- putting Hillary in the White House and keeping her out of prison.
Here is the problem:
GOPe represents about 20% of the party and is shrinking.
Conservatives represent about 20% and are growing
Trump has tapped into 40% of the party that is pissed off.
Due to the recriminations all around, none of the above 3 are willing to support the other. You can win the general election with only half a party.
Attacking our own is a HUGE part of the problem.
Not that it matters any which way, but the title with its out of context quote, is misleading.
Pharaphrasing what I heard (I'm not going to look for the exact quote), Trump said he didn't want Cruz's support because he doesn't want Cruz to be unhappy. Trump then said something like, It would be great if he supported me.
Rats not lemmings. Also the children of those who refused to pay him what he was due. (AKA cheats/liars/thieves) Excellent analogy!
I can’t say that I blame him.
If Trump is close he will cut a deal with the Rube for the VP slot to put him over the top. He will not make peace with Cruz since Cruz has been the only candidate to put a dent in Trump in the primary campaign.
The Rube will be the VP for Trump and it will be a bone toss to the GOPE, I took your candidate as VP, I expect your unwavering support.
“What does he care if Cruz supports him or not.”
He might care in a few months, when he will need Cruz’ supporters to vote for him in the general election.
At this point there is little downside in saying “Cruz does not have to support me.” I don’t think most voters care one way or the other. I give it very little if any thought.
That was my original thought. Maybe pick Walker instead of Rubio.
