Here’s how to really make America great again

What the heck is wrong with us?

On Wednesday, Washington, D.C.’s entire Metro subway system shut down with almost no notice to perform emergency inspections, just days after a cable fire “crippled” three lines.

The nation’s second-busiest rail system has been plagued by safety problems in recent years, including a 2015 incident where smoke from an electrical malfunction killed one person and a deadly 2009 crash on the system’s Red Line that killed nine people. And with a new Metro chief that has been vocal about returning to a culture that puts safety first, many say that Wednesday’s move is a welcome part of a new era for Washington’s subway system.

But the problems seen in the nation’s capital are hardly unique. The fact remains that the U.S. infrastructure is grossly underfunded.

A February feature in New York magazine revealed how a simple mechanical failure in the New York City subway system “cascaded into hours of underground hell, revealing just how fragile the subway really is.” With an aging system and no room for error, commuters regularly show up an hour early to account for delays they have come to expect as the cost of simply riding the rails.

Meanwhile, in fast-growing Atlanta, the comparatively newer MARTA rail system is cruising toward a similar fate after plans to increase its budget and support an expansion recently died in the state legislature. The Atlanta metro area is home to almost 5.5 million Americans, the ninth-largest city in the nation, and the population is expected to hit 8 million by 2040. At this rate, it’s almost a foregone conclusion that the transit troubles facing D.C. and New York will occur there, too.

Surely he’s joking. Obama threw hundreds of billions of dollars into “shovel ready” infrastructure projects. Is he saying the money was all stolen?

From the story: “For every $1 of public infrastructure spending, local economies grow by at least $2.”

That is the exact lie used by Obama to support his “stimulus spending” programs.

We live in Third World times and the graft and looting by our public servants and their cronies make these projects untenable.

Look at the railroad boondoggle. In Maine we have a line that is now being run and extended that NO ONE USES! The local private bus lines are a much better, faster, and cleaner deal. It keeps getting extended and funded as if it were a real wanted and useful item. Graft and looting.

The article says about 40 billion was spent on the projects.

From the article: “Consider that a 40-minute trip from the outer suburbs of Washington, D.C., to the Metro Center station can cost about $6 one-way in rush hour — adding up to $3,000 in fares a year. Base fares for the D.C. rail system have soared 59% since June 2004 in large part because of a lack of other funding sources, and it’s time to change that.”

In other words — “I like using public transport but I don’t want to pay for its upkeep and it isn’t fair for me to pay for the cost of maintenance in my ticket. It would be much fairer to steal money from people who don’t use the system.”

Another leftist redistributionist.

Here’s how to really make America great again:

Quit looking for a Political solution to a Spiritual problem...

2 Chronicles 7:14

If my people, who are called by my name,
shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek my face,
and turn from their wicked ways; ,

then will I hear from heaven,
and will forgive their sin,
and will heal their land.

Unless it’s a postal road, there’s very LITTLE for the Fed to get its nose into.

Too, govt has its immunity, so whom does the blame ultimately fall upon? Nobody. Some fall guy/gal, but little else.
