Wisconsin governor Scott Walker said Thursday that in the event of a contested convention, the Republican nominee will likely be someone who is not currently running.
I think if its an open convention, its very likely it would be someone whos not currently running, Walker said.
I mean, who knows. The one thing I qualify its like the qualifications you see on those ads you see for car dealerships. I think any of us who comment on this election have to qualify that almost every predictions been off, so its hard to predict anything, Walker added.
Walkers own run for the presidency went down in flames before the Iowa caucus even happened, due in large part to Walker hiring a D.C.-based team that didnt know how to manage a conservative Midwesterner. Convention head Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) has not definitively ruled out the possibility that he could get the nomination in Cleveland. John Boehner said that he would support Ryan on a second ballot.

good pic, had he sided with trump I’m sure you’d have a different pic
I think this has been the goal of the GOP all along. The primaries are just trash TV to entertain the masses, and Trump & Cruz were never considered serious candidates to lead the uniparty. The same goes for the left with bernie vs. hitlery. Bernie could win every delegate in every state, and the dems will still hand the crown over to hitlery, via some lame excuse.
The voting masses don’t realize what they are up against. These polls have real power, and have no intention on giving it up, even it means staging a mock election or soft coup.
All I can say is I guess we will find out, if they truly are stupid enough to go that route, as to what actually unfolds after that. I guarantee it will benefit none of us, especially the Republican Party. But then they haven’t been known as the Stupid Party for decades for no reason whatsoever.
There are only three pools of delegates; Trump delegates, Cruz delegates, and Establishment delegates. The Establishment delegates will be the fewest in number by far.
The ‘someone not currently running’ would almost certainly be a choice agreed to by Trump and Cruz, unless Trump would make common cause with the Establishment. There aren’t enough double-agent delegates to let the GOP-E get their choice.
And the Establishment wonders why Conservatives hate them so much that we’ll promote Trump or Cruz just to make them choke.
no not really most real republicans don’t want the con man. Those national polls show how many dems skew the numbers. you are delusional that they won’t vote for Biden
His approval ratings are lower than Trump’s. He’s simply not good enough or smart enough to side with Trump.
Which one of you Trumpets just called Rush, your comments are all about the same. That endorsement is sour grapes to you. The establishment does not want Cruz either. Lindsay Graham’s endorsement is not a heart felt one like Scott Walker’s is. Let it be known: If you endorse Cruz, expect to be torn to shreds, tarred and feathered and whatever on this website.
I believe it will end like this.
Trump, Cruz and Sanders will be dropped in the conventions.
I believe Trump/Cruz will run 3rd party against either Clinton or Biden and the GOPe candidate.
I believe the 3rd party Trump/Cruz will win with all the Trump/Cruz votes and all the angry Sanders votes against whatever the R or D put up.
That will be out path
If Cruz is so great, why does he have to pay for endorsements?
Cruz sent money to Walker.
Beck had to be paid 10k to get on stage with him.
Carly? Only 500k.
Not going to get in a us vs them discussion.
All I ask is which Blue/Purple states does a Cruz ticket bring to the GOP side?
The answer is ‘none’
Its a high probability that a Cruz ticket will loose AZ, IA, MO, NC, OH and FL
You still have to get to 270.
It is hard to say if Trump will attract Reagan Dems either as either Hillary or Bernie is going to be tough to beat.
Cruz hasn’t a chance in the General.
Oh and I like Cruz.
That is old news.
Walker hasn’t endorsed Cruz yet.
that’s funny
Walker did endorse Cruz this morning. And he endorsed because Cruz helped pay off his campaign debt and the GOP said to.
His comment that none of the three running will be the nominee says it all.
Trump’s negatives top everybody

contesTED
Then why did you post a 6 day old article?
What is Walker’s approval number?
Because Walker reported a week ago he was going to endorse Cruz, that’s how this subject came up. So if he knew he was endorsing Cruz when he said this, it’s a bogus endorsement.
