Wisconsin governor Scott Walker said Thursday that in the event of a contested convention, the Republican nominee will likely be someone who is not currently running.
I think if its an open convention, its very likely it would be someone whos not currently running, Walker said.
I mean, who knows. The one thing I qualify its like the qualifications you see on those ads you see for car dealerships. I think any of us who comment on this election have to qualify that almost every predictions been off, so its hard to predict anything, Walker added.
Walkers own run for the presidency went down in flames before the Iowa caucus even happened, due in large part to Walker hiring a D.C.-based team that didnt know how to manage a conservative Midwesterner. Convention head Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) has not definitively ruled out the possibility that he could get the nomination in Cleveland. John Boehner said that he would support Ryan on a second ballot.

Walker and Carly are working for Romney/Jeb and have made a deal.
Cruz will be kicked to the curb if we have a brokered convention.
SO, the #1 and #2 leaders of the race did not cross the finish line, so therefore, they are disqualified from the race. Huh? Liberal logic? Alternate universe thinking?
You guys just invent stuff nowdays don’t ya...
“Cruz is nothing but a shill for the GOPe and will be chucked aside once Trump is stopped by Cruz”
Hate to break it to ya, but MAYBE the party is uniting behind whom is the best shot we have at winning in November...
Sorry its not your guy, but it just isn’t.
I think if its an open convention, its very likely it would be someone whos not currently running, Walker said”
That is the money quote. If so that is the end of the GOP as far as I am concerned. I will not vote for the Presidential ticket. I am sick and tired of all the games being played.
“Cruz will be kicked to the curb if we have a brokered convention.”
Cruz suffers from Terminal Obtuseness, and will never figure this out.
They will rue the day they make that decision.
Yep, Cruz is their tool and they are using him as necessary for their machine. When he is no longer useful he goes to the garbage heap. Hope the Cruz supporters are going to feel the love from the GOPe for keeping them in control.
[but MAYBE the party is uniting behind whom is the best shot we have at winning in November...]
I’ve worked for enough campaigns to know there’s no sense in becoming emotionally attached to a candidate. I liken it to not naming an animal that is destined to go to market.
Do your best in promoting your candidate, then move on.
I heard Tucker Carlson on Hannity last night say that Republican insiders on The Hill are saying that there is no way in hell that Donald Trump will be the nominee. The GOP wont allow it, no way no how. The voters be damned.
This “endorsement” is just another maneuver by the GOPe to disenfranchise the voters.
You are right. The endorsement of Cruz is completely fake. Walker is part of the stop Trump movement.
So when the GOPe kicks Cruz to the side after a good boy pat on the head what are the Cruz supporters going to do? Stay home like the Trump supporters?
Sage advice.
As a Cruzer, I think it will be Biden vs Ryan
Someone said CRUZ paid off his campaign debt. Is there any foundation for this?
it definitely won’t be Trump winning in November either
If it is we can thank you Cruzers.
