Ted Cruz dodges question about whether he's 'always been faithful' to his wife as endorser Carly Fiorina leaps in to insist a declaration that he's not an adulterer is a 'dance to Donald Trump's tune'
Texas senator could put National Enquirer scandal to rest with a simple statement that he has never strayed in his 14-year marriage Instead he has batted down the supermarket tabloid's speculative story about five alleged affairs in a more limited fashion Carly Fiorina leaped in to intercept DailyMail.com's request for a blanket statement of marital fidelity and Cruz ultimately punted on the question Fiorina pleaded for a return to discussing issues, but lobbed her own accusation at 'serial adulterer' Donald Trump Cruz also challenged Trump to a one-on-one debate in Wisconsin on Tuesday night: 'Why don't you show up and debate like a man?' Ted Cruz declined to answer a question on Monday about whether he has ever been unfaithful to his wife Heidi.
'Senator Cruz,' DailyMail.com asked him, 'can you please swat down more definitively this National Enquirer piece by telling us on the record that you've never been unfaithful to your wife?'
The National Enquirer published a story last Wednesday that speculated about five women with whom the Republican presidential candidate was rumored to have had extramarital affairs.
Cruz has batted down the specifics of the story on numerous occasions since it appeared in supermarket checkout lanes.
But instead of making a blanket declaration that he has been faithful during the entirety of his 14-year marriage a move that would effectively end the vicious news cycle Cruz stood silently as campaign surrogate Carly Fiorina leapt in to intercept the question and change the subject.

Mosby was a great spy and got information, you are not there yet.
The question:

Carly does make it look like Cruz would not have liked to answer the question “Have you ever been unfaithful to your wife”, on the record, on video.
Jeez man. CONTENT!
Like the video. Did they at least share a love of cheese?
Trump's campaign has not revolved around assertions of being the best Christian in the race.
Trump's campaign has not rested on the foundation that he is an extremely moral person, while his main opponent is immoral.
Ted will be judged according to the same standards as he judges others.
You really don’t hear how squirmingly desperate and angry you sound. You’ve stooped to defending Ted by trying to draw a legitimate moral difference between adultery and sexual harassment.
May I remind you that this conversation isn’t about the sexual pecadilloes of politicians in general, but about whether or not Ted Cruz is guilty of cheating on his wife. Ted was given a perfect opportunity to categorically state to one and all that he’s always been faithful to his wife, and he flat refused to do so, even when the words were offered to him.
This isn’t a court of law, it’s the court of public opinion, and Ted is losing the case.
This isn’t about ‘my guy’, and what he might or might not do. It’s about Ted Cruz, and the fact that he’s refused to flatly state that he’s never been unfaithful to his wife.
In the minds of most people, that’s a tacit admission of guilt.
Spoken by the simpleton’s cudgel. Explains plenty.
How about addressing what was asked of you? Can’t do that?
Substantive policy— not “wannabee” “gosh I think he’s really really honest” BS. This while the country— the country— is in serious trouble.
As to my family name—other than not knowing who Mosby was (for real) you don’t know a thing about my capabilities, connections or political work history. This isn’t Celebrity Apprentice. Deo Vindice.
But it is defending Trump too. And I'm not even interested in defending Cruz at this point. It is simply a case of defending truth/morality in general Forcing yourself on a woman is worse than being with a woman who is willing. That is why what Bill Clinton did is worse that what Trump has admitted to doing, and what Cruz is accused of. That this statement so upset you suggests that you are the one who needs a bias check.
And frankly, I don't want our Presidential election to become focused on "did this candidate ever cheat on his/her spouse", because that would have disqualified a whole bunch of pretty good Presidents, including Reagan who started seeing Nancy before he was divorced.
Has Trump bee exposed as a possible cheat on his wife?
No
Why would he make a comment on it then?
Of course I would not know who you are, especially if you are like the old gray ghost.
That's just your opinion on what Cruz's campaign has been about. I look at him as being the best conservative in the race. I joined Free Republic because of the following preamble:
"Free Republic is the premier online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America. And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah!"
I wasn't looking for a populist.
Slow motion train wreck.
What’s odd to me is that they had months to prepare for the story to break and this is all they have to fight back....just weird.
“a move that would effectively end the vicious news cycle”......riiiight......and pigs can fly.
Please pay attention. Leftists and pretend conservatives never give up and never give in.
Trump’s books— all of which I’ve read— brag quite a bit about his philandering.
Coupled with his “sort of” assumed brilliant business mind (promoted by an excess of public relations gambits and the Screen Actor’s Guild/Am. Federation of Television & Radio Artists— the union to which mr.trump belongs), and his repeated use of government subsidy funds for his development and political suasion (Atlantic City,NJ).
We aren’t electing a national priest or pastor (a laugh in and of itself) but a person of probity and skill to be a chief executive. The central issues of whom— if any— will absolutely repeal the ACA (now 6 years old) which is the nail in the coffin on freedom and financial stability, and who will shut down completely illegal immigration and the current H1-B visa pay to play system: this is not being clearly exposed.
Why? because the media/establishment/corporatists do not want ACA repealed (so they no longer have to pay employees matching care) and they want illegal aliens here both to change the electorate and to push out American citizen full employment. Ugly, real facts— obfuscated by silly high school sex jokes and innuendoes in the childish press.

I don’t think this reply was intended for me....:)
Ted Cruz has placed himself on a pedestal as the righteous candidate. He and his surrogates have claimed all Christians should support him as a result.
When you present yourself as the Holy Man, the Face of God, you have set an impossibly high standard for yourself.
(The “Face of God” no less??)
The true character of such a man is incredibly important.
Ted Cruz stands accused of many things, not just serial adultery, lying about that adultery and bearing false witness against others.
His guilt or innocence is not yet proven, but the overall situation is clear. His political future rides on the outcome.
Eventually we will know the truth. If he is guilty it will be a deep wound to his supporters, most of whom are very good people.
No it's not....it's only an admission to those who are already prone to believe in his guilt!!
LOL
I don't hold a guy accountable for everything his supporters say. If I did, I wouldn't be able to vote for anyone in an election. Still not entirely clear on why Trump should get a pass for cheating on his wives, but Ted wouldn't. I mean, I can understand people excluding both candidates for that, but not just one.
So I'd say that if Cruz loses votes for that, they probably aren't going to Donald.
Nope. The honeymoon’s not over. I’ll get back yo you when it is, bot it’s 18 years and counting. :)
