Ted Cruz dodges question about whether he's 'always been faithful' to his wife as endorser Carly Fiorina leaps in to insist a declaration that he's not an adulterer is a 'dance to Donald Trump's tune'
Texas senator could put National Enquirer scandal to rest with a simple statement that he has never strayed in his 14-year marriage Instead he has batted down the supermarket tabloid's speculative story about five alleged affairs in a more limited fashion Carly Fiorina leaped in to intercept DailyMail.com's request for a blanket statement of marital fidelity and Cruz ultimately punted on the question Fiorina pleaded for a return to discussing issues, but lobbed her own accusation at 'serial adulterer' Donald Trump Cruz also challenged Trump to a one-on-one debate in Wisconsin on Tuesday night: 'Why don't you show up and debate like a man?' Ted Cruz declined to answer a question on Monday about whether he has ever been unfaithful to his wife Heidi.
'Senator Cruz,' DailyMail.com asked him, 'can you please swat down more definitively this National Enquirer piece by telling us on the record that you've never been unfaithful to your wife?'
The National Enquirer published a story last Wednesday that speculated about five women with whom the Republican presidential candidate was rumored to have had extramarital affairs.
Cruz has batted down the specifics of the story on numerous occasions since it appeared in supermarket checkout lanes.
But instead of making a blanket declaration that he has been faithful during the entirety of his 14-year marriage a move that would effectively end the vicious news cycle Cruz stood silently as campaign surrogate Carly Fiorina leapt in to intercept the question and change the subject.

I’ve been ultra faithful to my wife. If I was running for prez, I would not give questions about it any dignity. I.e.i would not acknowledge or answer them.
ewww....she should ask for her money back, then...
4) or there is a big nothing burger here...
Teddy is starting to look like and older version of the Pajama Boy.
How do you think Trump would answer that question if it was put to him? I imagine he would refuse to answer.
We need someone who will go to Washington and throw the money-changers out, he said, comparing Cruz to Jesus himself. God raises special men and women to protect his people, and I believe this is one of those moments in time. ... Ted Cruz is that man who God has prepared for this moment in time.
Cruz himself makes no such public claim to divine support. But he has staked his White House ambitions to a large degree on support from conservative Christians, from a campaign launch at Liberty University, the worlds largest evangelical school, to Fridays rally at a downtown Des Moines convention center.
When THIS is your starting point (in Iowa), yeah, I think your morality is fair game.
ouch, not looking good for him
Maybe...but if you had some fake ‘Churchill-tattoo’ on your arm, and some dandy hottie from CNN showed up on the same day that you got your new fake tattoo....with the same tattoo....if I were your wife, I’d have some suspicious nature about your faithfulness.
Is “Ultra Faithful” 100%. /s
The only way to handle it is 100% direct. You've got to "put a bullet" in the story's brain and kill it once and for all.
He was handed the opportunity and he blew it. The reporter practically begged him to do it, and he blew it.
That's what I thought.
I can’t speak for Trump, though I will give what I think.
I think he would say yes he has or no he has not , but I do think he would be more forth coming and more honest like he has already over his past relationships.
the trouble with cruz is that he portrayed himself as the holier than thou candidate and since two months ago and how his campaign has gone then he certainly comes off not as that.
“This isn’t Bill banging an intern in the oval office, or sexually harassing unwilling women.”
Yeah, because when your guy commits infidelity it’s different.
::: rolls eyes :::
Agreed. With Trump, he’s been an open book for years about his life. And doesn’t have a fake aura of religious superiority with a guy like Beck his false prophet.
No. There’s a difference between adultery, and sexual harassment of subordinates.
But when you surround yourself with supporters who DO invoke his morality, and do pander, specifically feeding "red meat" to evangelicals just to target those votes, yeah, you bet it's fair game, or else it's "false advertising".
LOL!!!!
Oh that is good...
“Carly dated her second husband while still married to the first.”
Maybe she learned that from Trump, eh?
