National Enquirer Cruz infidelity story could cost Trump a prominent supporter
American Thinker ^ | 03/26/2016 | Thomas Lifson

Donald Trump has denied any connection to the National Enquirer story released yesterday claiming Ted Cruz has had 5 mistresses:

I have no idea whether or not the cover story about Ted Cruz in this week’s issue of the National Enquirer is true or not, but I had absolutely nothing to do with it, did not know about it, and have not, as yet, read it.

Likewise, I have nothing to do with the National Enquirer and unlike Lyin’ Ted Cruz I do not surround myself with political hacks and henchman and then pretend total innocence. Ted Cruz’s problem with the National Enquirer is his and his alone, and while they were right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others, I certainly hope they are not right about Lyin’ Ted Cruz.

I look forward to spending the week in Wisconsin, winning the Republican nomination and ultimately the Presidency in order to Make America Great Again.

-Donald J. Trump

But that may not be enough for one of Trump’s earliest, most influential, and enthusiastic supporters, syndicated talk show host Michael Savage.

In a passionate 4-minute monologue, Savage said he had knowledge from a source he would “trust with my life” that the charges in the story were totally false. Savage also noted that he also has been attacked with innuendo over his entire career, and that “it is not pretty to live through this garbage.”

He stated that the Enquirer is run by a close friend of Trump, David Pecker, who flies on Trump’s plane, and that Pecker is behind the Cruz smear. He called on Trump to disavow the story and David Pecker, and threatened to withdraw his support if he doesn’t.

Personally, I have always felt Michael Savage was about as stable as Glenn Beck. If he has now turned on Trump, it is not necessarily a bad thing. I kind of hope he goes all in for Cruz.

Savage said he had knowledge from a source he would “trust with my life” that the charges in the story were totally false.

One of the 'charges' in the story is that CRUZ donated $500,000 to the Carly Fiorina PAC.

SOMEBODY is LYING, Mr. Savage. The proof is there.

I’ve never been a big fan of Savage, he’s always been shrill. But, to be fair, he’s already walked it back. This story has taken a life of it’s own. He’s no longer saying that.

This kind of sleazy mud slinging is just the tip of the iceberg. Between now and November it will amp up to an amazing level as the Marxists and GOPe struggle to keep their strangle hold on America.

Trump needs to lose the support of not only Michael Savage, but of all true conservatives for this sleazy stuff by a snake oil salesman. The polls are now showing that some 70% of the electorate doesn’t trust this conman and he is going down in flames to Hillary by as much as 18% points. Never too late.
Go Cruz, go.

“Savage’s shallow type of friendship”

I’ve been tuned into Savage for a year or so now.

He will course correct Monday. I’m sure of it.

Just tells me you’re never too old to make a mistake.

The false part of your story is that Savage dumped Trump as a supporter.

In fact, he read Trump's statement and then claimed, as usual, that he was responsible for Trump's disavowal of the story.

He then went on to some other topic.

From CBS News:

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/why-did-ted-cruzs-pac-give-half-a-million-to-carly-fiorinas/

Super PACs are legally allowed to give money to other super PACs - they are only prohibited from donating directly to any political campaign. But it’s unusual for one of these groups to give money to an opponent, especially when the candidate it supports is still in the race.

“Keep the Promise I made the donation in June to Ms. Fiorina at that time because we thought she had important things to say that weren’t being heard, including her poignant and effective criticism of Mrs. Clinton, at the time, the likely Democratic nominee,” Kellyanne Conway, president of Keep the Promise I told CBS News in an email.

[SNIP]

The donation came before Fiorina’s well-received performance in the two GOP debates helped boost her to the top of Republican polls. Both the Cruz and Fiorina campaigns declined to comment, as did Fiorina’s super PAC.

Michael Savage would be a small loss. And if Teddy has been off the Rez how is that Trump’s fault? The NE already came out and said he has nothing to do with the story.

I find the silence from Trump last night and today just fascinating. :-)

How many lovers has Hillary Clinton had? How many were men? How many were even human?

And how many mistresses has Bernie Sanders ... Oh, never mind.

Someone here, I cannot remember the name or would ping him, posted that Carly Fiorina and `Make America Awesome Again’ share the same mailing address.
I can’t recall if he posted verification as you did. The political machinations (against Trump) going on here are really something.

RE: The NE already came out and said he has nothing to do with the story.

I find it interesting that the NE is believable when they deny something, but when one of the alleged “mistresses”, Katrina Pierson denies it and calls it 100% false, she is now not to be believed.

How convenient!
