Donald Trump has denied any connection to the National Enquirer story released yesterday claiming Ted Cruz has had 5 mistresses:
I have no idea whether or not the cover story about Ted Cruz in this week’s issue of the National Enquirer is true or not, but I had absolutely nothing to do with it, did not know about it, and have not, as yet, read it.
Likewise, I have nothing to do with the National Enquirer and unlike Lyin’ Ted Cruz I do not surround myself with political hacks and henchman and then pretend total innocence. Ted Cruz’s problem with the National Enquirer is his and his alone, and while they were right about O.J. Simpson, John Edwards, and many others, I certainly hope they are not right about Lyin’ Ted Cruz.
I look forward to spending the week in Wisconsin, winning the Republican nomination and ultimately the Presidency in order to Make America Great Again.
-Donald J. Trump
But that may not be enough for one of Trump’s earliest, most influential, and enthusiastic supporters, syndicated talk show host Michael Savage.
In a passionate 4-minute monologue, Savage said he had knowledge from a source he would “trust with my life” that the charges in the story were totally false. Savage also noted that he also has been attacked with innuendo over his entire career, and that “it is not pretty to live through this garbage.”
He stated that the Enquirer is run by a close friend of Trump, David Pecker, who flies on Trump’s plane, and that Pecker is behind the Cruz smear. He called on Trump to disavow the story and David Pecker, and threatened to withdraw his support if he doesn’t.

RE: Jeff Roe
Uh huh, and what if someone responds with two words — Corey Lewandowski, what does that prove?
This particular article? ONCE.
How thoroughly Clintonian in the parsing.
Good grief do a search as I have to go and when you find it will you now admit that you supporting cruz has been a mistake and will you answer the question of will cruz win NY, NJ, DE, MD, CA, RI, CT and more to get the nomination?
I will help you Ben shales of GQ sales manager.
Yes, that was it.
Bombing the wrong target? This whole thing started because Trump wrongly blamed Cruz for the PAC ad.
I've heard him exactly once because he was on at a friends house and then only for about a half hour. I really don't have an opinion of him one way or another beyond the fact that what some of his listeners have told me he said makes good and some sounds downright worthless. Either way I heard it filtered through someone else so it's hard for me to say much one way or another about his history on other topics.
I do know this. There's a trail of crumbs behind the NE story and it being tied to Trump that leads directly back to Utah and Romney. People who leave the chain of evidence back to them so open when they try to blame someone else for their own problem are either totally inept or were reacting to something they'd lost control of and figured they didn't have time to cover their tracks but could blow enough smoke to keep people from looking for it.
IMHo, it's a case of the later happening. When Trump told Ted to watch out or he'd spill the beans on Hedi, NE figured he had everything they had, didn't consider Hedi and her NAU goals as possibly being "the beans" because they consider scandal, not political views, then ran with the story about Cruz rather than waiting until closer the convention or even until they saw whether Ted was the nominee.
That would mean the GOPe machine, knowing this was out there and finding out it would break soon rather than on their own timetable, looked at what was around, saw that Ted had been pushing the, "Is this who should be First Lady ?", line and tell their new BFF Ted that Trump was the cause of it coming out. After all, a guy like Ted would be so puffed up over recently being invited to the big kids table on Thanksgiving day he'd never notice that one of the kids at the table spit on his plate while he was hanging with Romney the hometown hero in Utah.
All in all it's a very interesting situation. Levin dismisses it out of hand, Rush had to have heard about Rubio shopping this story around, Savage jumps on the GOPe bandwagon right away, and Cruz fans do back flips to keep from anyone noticing that they were part of the, "where there's smoke, there's fire" crowd when the Edwards and Clinton scandals broke or when tales of Barry At The Bath House are floated.

RE: What does it say when Michael Savage is the voice of decency on your team?
Not sure what you’re talking about. I never considered Savage to be on my team... I thought he was always on board with the Trump express.
I gave up listening to Savage ( Michael Wiener ) years ago when his constant and incessant hyperbole got to me .
Worse than Mark Levin ! ( and that’s sayin something )
LOL, so that ad said, "Vote for Kasich" ?
Spin, spin, spin. It is your guy who is going down in flames.
The photo for the PAC ad of Melania (if that is what you are referencing) was purchased from GQ by Jeff Roe, Cruz’s campaign manager.
RE: Cruz fans do back flips to keep from anyone noticing that they were part of the, “where there’s smoke, there’s fire” crowd
I do not consider myself a Cruz “fan”. I am a supporter, but that support is CONDITIONAL ( it always is for ANY candidate ).
Now regarding “where there’s smoke, there’s fire”, I want to know if the smoke is real or just “smoke and mirrors”.
That’s why I keep asking for GOOD EVIDENCE. Not ones that can be explained by other factors.
This BS is just icing on the cake. If Trump had this much power to effect any media red meat, he'd have locked up the nomination months ago.

That was alleged by a post in Twitter. Not sure if e can trust the source.

Thanks, will read.
I don’t have a link, but I read it in a news article that quoted GQ as having released a statement that the buyer was Roe.
Oh, dear! Heidi topless.
My thinking is perhaps Ted and Heidi are married now in name only, and perhaps been that way for a long while. It may be for financial, political, and for their two daughters sake that they maintain their married status. If their marriage is a business relationship only, I can see why Ted has been playing fast and loose. But he should have been more discreet, because I doubt he can live this down.
EDIT TO ADD — I’d like to know the identity of the person in the sales department who made this transaction with Jeff Roe.
GQ sales guy, Ben Shales, says Jeff Roe ordered Melania ad.
Roe is Cruz campaign advisor. https://twitter.com/rossr122/status/713148201407152128
By the way, you may want to watch this:
Texas Lobbyist and Ted Cruz Operative Admits Origin of Campaign To Attack Donald Trumps Wife
This was on March 8th. It shows what the Cruz campaign (Jeff Roe) talking points were and would be; to attack Donald Trump’s wife.
Liz Mair and her attack ad were just a part of the campaign.
