In a year of truly abysmal ideas this is easily the worst. Some on the right want to compile a blacklist to punish conservatives who support Donald Trump. They would prove their loyalty to conservative principles by acting like leftist thought police.
"It's time to make a list of so-called conservatives and Republicans endorsing Donald Trump," fumes Amanda Carpenter, formerly a senior speechwriter and communications consultant for both Sen. Jim DeMint and Ted Cruz. "Anyone who will defend a man condoning random acts of violence at his rallies has lost his morals; he will defend anything at all," Amanda intones.
"So I'd like to remember who supported Trump so I never again give any kind of credence to their judgment," writes Carpenter. Not having Amanda give credence to your judgment is a heavy burden to bear.
Matt Walsh who writes for The Blaze, adds, "I think we need to identify the traitors and remember their names" the "famous and once-respected conservatives (who) have gutted their credibility for a chance to latch themselves to Trump like barnacles on the Titanic." No more credence for barnacle-like credibility-gutters! Don't they teach young conservatives how to write any more?
How will the blacklist work? Will membership cards be revoked and secret decoder rings recalled? Maybe they won't get to be nattering noggins on FOX News and CNN. Possibly, horror of horrors, they won't be allowed to write for (what's the opposite of electrifying?) National Review and The Weekly Standard.
Trump-haters are to be distinguished from those merely opposed to the Donald. The haters are unhinged and given to off-the-wall charges: "Trump is Hitler." "Trump eats babies for breakfast." "Trump condones random acts of violence at his rallies."
The last is not just patently false; it's contemptible. The acts of violence at Trump rallies aren't random. They're premeditated and organized by the storm troopers of MoveOn.org and Black Lives Matter. There isn't a conservative speaker who hasn't experienced their savagery. (I did when the fascist scum disrupted a speech I tried to give at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst a few years ago.) To blame Trump for the mayhem is to exonerate the Soros goon squad.
I don't trust Donald Trump. He's the ultimate salesman who'll say anything to close the deal with voters. You might call me a Trump skeptic. A Trump hater is another animal.
Where were the calls to boycott the conservative sellouts who embraced Mitt Romney in 2012?
Romneycare was the model for Obamacare. Romney was the enabler of gay matrimony in Massachusetts, the first state whose judiciary redefined the institution. Its high court found a mandate for same-sex marriage in an 18th century constitution. Then-Governor Romney ordered clerks to begin issuing gay marriage licenses, as if the court's edict was constitutional and the people had spoken.
As governor, Romney consistently appointed judicial activists of both parties. As for his improbable conversion to the pro-life cause based on a mythical encounter with a Harvard stem-cell researcher (they were introduced by the Easter Bunny) if you believe that, you will believe anything.
Was there a blacklist of the opportunists who attached themselves to the SS Mitt many bought and paid for? Romney was generous in his donations to conservative groups.
Should pro-amnesty "conservatives" be blacklisted?
Illegal immigration is destroying our national identity, generating a crime wave and eliminating jobs for the working class. Are there any conservative principles more sacred than national security and public safety? So where are the calls to punish supporters of Lindsey Graham, John McCain, Jeb Bush, John Kasich and Boy Marco?
In Framingham, Massachusetts, over the weekend, four illegal aliens from Guatemala (two had been previously deported), raped a women and viciously beat her boyfriend. Jeb Bush says it was an "act of love" for the quartet to come here. John Kasich, who wants a blanket amnesty, says they are "made in the image of the Lord." In this sense, so was Jack the Ripper.
Who's going to tell Phyllis Schlafly, the founding mother of the modern conservative movement, that she's now persona non grata?
After eviscerating Republicans who passed Obama's $1.1 trillion omnibus budget bill ("If anyone needs more evidence of why the American people are suffering at the hands of their own government, look no further than the budget deal announced by Speaker Ryan."), Mrs. Schlafly observed: "It sounds like Donald Trump is the only one who has any fight in him. He will fight on the issues that we really care about... such as the immigration issue." That was before Christmas, by the way before the first primary vote was cast and the New Yorker began amassing delegates.
The end result of the Trump-haters' hysteria will be to push more conservatives into the billionaire's camp as an act of defiance. If the blacklist crowd understood anything, they'd know that a movement of individualists is the least likely to bow to intimidation.
Supporting Trump means a quick trip to room 101.
I read this witch’s crap earlier in the day. She sounds like Cruz’s Super PAC trash plus the disgusting one that Walker fired last year that now backs Cruz.
These people are fighting tooth and nail to stop Trump , because they know if he gets the nomination and wins the general election then their gravy train is over.
This is why the establishment and Cruz has got in bed with each other and it is pitiful to see.
There is that word “conservative” again.
Who are these conservatives and where have they been for decades?
“Some on the right want to...” is where I usually stop. I like to see stuff like According to (insert name or location of someone that has a public record) if I am going to read this kind of blog.
I don’t like Trump at all, but blacklisting his supporters is evil and sick.
Be one a backer of Cruz or Trump, we can all agree with this.
No..I do not support or agree with blacklisting people who support any candidate
No, different women.
It is list. Use it or don’t. You could check it to see who did support Trump.
“Be one a backer of Cruz or Trump, we can all agree with this.
No..I do not support or agree with blacklisting people who support any candidate”
AGREED, 100%
Well, of course. Despite what Cruzlims say, Trump supporters are not cult-of-personality-worshipping low-info dumbasses who have a burning desire to be part of some tent revival group following around a snake-handler who begs for money all day and demands unyielding loyalty to what Dear Leader says is a “real, consistent conservative”.
We’re tired of PC cucks and GOPe globalists, and that’s pretty much it. Ted Cruz is annoying because he’s quite obviously a phony. Just watching his nervous ticks and robotic mannerisms as he recites his answers in interviews makes a Trump supporter cringe. Watching him blame Trump for leftist riots, play the usual “I didn’t say that, it was my Super PAC” game, and all his other weasel garbage is just sad, because it’s causing otherwise well-meaning people who are sick of leftists to grow vaginas and act just like leftists themselves.
Hopefully the people who support Cruz will come around some day and leave behind the crybaby “me too” GOPe bought-and-paid fraud that is Ted Cruz. But if they don’t, whatever.
DT will still get the votes he needs, and we’ll Make America Great Again for everyone. Even the people that got fooled by Ted. No “blacklists” required. All are welcome in the end.
Even the cucks. As long as they wise up, ditch their liberal arts degrees and “conservative” columnist blogs, and get a job, once some jobs actually get moved back to our own country.
Funny how Mark Levin and Rush Limbaugh were railing against the establishment and were leading the cheering section against Jeb earlier in the year. Now that it’s clear that Jeb’s old campaign team and the rest of the Bush political apparatus has signed on with Cruz you don’t hear a peep out of these two sellouts about the Bush family connection with Ted Cruz. Yeah, both of these clowns can take their conservative purity talk and shove it up their backsides.
Please don’t compare Trump to Reagan.
You’re already on a lot of peoples list here.
And we intend to use it every chance we get.
Are you saying that only billionaires should run for president?
Carpenter is a nasty bitch.
Jeb had to get Mom’s permission to go with Cruz.
This election really is the Cheap Labor Express vs the citizens
The stop Trump effort is really a stop the citizens from keeping their country effort, financed by The Cheap Labor Express.
¡Teb! has joined the dark side
