Cruz on back to Texas, Ted. You gave it your best shot!
The Green Papers 2016 Presidential Primaries, Caucuses, and Conventions ^ | March 23, 2016 | Myself/Vanity/Data Analysis

THE DELEGATE RACE MATH ~ 35% of the primary election race remains.

Trump won 7,825,264 votes -—> 755 delegates.

T.Cruz won 5,737,119 votes —-> 465 delegates.

~~Countdown to 1237 delegates~~

There are 895 hard delegates remaining of which some are free/soft delegates. Some delegates have already been won by other candidates. We have 808 new delegates 'up for grabs' in the upcoming races.

Donald Trump: 755 delegates won. He must win 482 more delegates to reach 1237. That is 59% of the 808 remaining hard delegates. He may lose 397 more delegates & still win 1237.

Ted Cruz: 465 delegates won. He must win 772 more delegates to reach 1237. That is 96% of the 808 remaining hard delegates. He may lose 36 more delegates & still win 1237.

The current rules set a goal of reaching a simple majority of the delegates combined with a majority win of eight state delegations. When no candidate earns the majority of delegates, the rules change significantly.

There are 345 delegates already assigned to other candidates. . . .

If most of those go to Cruz, we've got ourselves a real horse race. Go, Ted, go!

That’s idiotic. What if something happens to Trump over the next two months?

And then you people will be considered traitors to the actual voter and lose everything to Hillary. Hilarious isn’t it?

Don’t play the game, it’s Trump or Hillary.

Only question is does Cruz want a shot at VP and later Prez, while saving the Republic, or is he gonna ally himself with the Bushs and in doing so lose to Hillary and permanantly damage his brand with conservatives.

He can’t win FL,OH, or VA at the top of the ticket, in this election or any other.

FR is full of desperate deluded Cruzbots who somehow think the GOPe will hand the nomination to a man they despise if he somehow manages to play spoiler against the guy with the most votes.

{ You’re dreaming if you think Ted’s new bffs will let him be the nominee }

In other words, Ted is like the kid who the bullies are being all nice too, while taping “Kick Me” to his back.

I don't expect Cruz to get out....nor Kasich. Trump will just have to get his 1237 delegates before the convention.

The RULES require 1237 to get the nomination.

Trump won’t have 1237 on the first ballot.

Cruz WILL have 1237 on the second ballot.

Cruz is JUST WINNING under the rules.....THAT is NOT “stealing” anything.

Trump doesn’t “OWN” the nomination, so Cruz winning on the second ballot isn’t “stealing”......

Cruz will win on the second ballot

Have you checked to see if that has been ordained by High Priest Beck and his Magic Underpants?

Ted Cruz could not and will not be close to winning the nomination outright. He’s seen that truth for a while which is when he joined the GOP for a brokered convention.

Instead of abiding by the will of the people that he could not win the nomination the right way he’s already scheming with states to plant his delegates and deny Trump his majority.

Cruz is a sad, selfish, narcissistic, man blinded by ambition.

Don’t forget about the possibility of a contested convention.
LOL! Dream on. How blind do you have to be to not see that the GOP is the pimp and Cruz is the HO.

Just like a ho, when the beating stops he'll defend them and talk about what wonderful people they are and how much they love each other...Oh wait, that's already started.

The GOPe doesn’t get to pick anyone in a contested convention. The delegates elected by the states get to pick the nominee. So if a majority of state-elected delegates cannot agree on a nominee up front on the first ballot, they keep voting until a majority does agree. In between votes, they can negotiate with other delegates to try to sway the next vote.

Same process that plays out in almost every other nomination/election process across the country from student councils to corporate boardrooms.

I think Trump should drop out so Cruz can get the delegates needed. By staying in, Trump is just showing that he doesn’t want the true conservative to win and wants Hillary to win.

When it gets flipped around, does it bother Trump supporters like it does Cruz supporters? I cast my vote in Missouri for Cruz. Such a tight race, still! We’re still in the primaries. I’m so glad I had the chance to vote for him and that he hadn’t dropped out yet and I imagine Cruz supporters still waiting for their chance to vote feel the same way.

I can see the argument being made for Kashich but not Cruz or Trump. Let people vote for who they want throughout the country and then lets see what happens. If it leads to a convention and the establishment picks someone other than those two, then we can fight that battle when it happens.
