If Donald Trump can keep up his winning streak, he will head to the Republican National Convention in Cleveland with just barely enough delegates to win the presidential nomination outright, avoiding a messy fight that has all sides of the GOP wary of the consequences.
Even if he is just shy of the 1,237 delegates needed to clinch the nomination, Mr. Trump will still likely walk away with a first-ballot win after he sways enough uncommitted delegates to back him for the sake of avoiding a contested convention, one prominent Republican prognosticator said.
The billionaire businessman will get his next test Tuesday, when Arizona holds its primary, Utah holds caucuses and American Samoa hosts a convention. Mr. Trump needs to win about 60 percent of the 107 delegates at stake if he is to stay on track for a first-ballot convention win.
Mr. Trump says it wont even be close. Speaking to reporters in Washington, he predicted that he will enter the convention with as many as 1,450 delegates well more than the majority needed.
I think we are going to easily make that number 1,237, he said. Well make it easily. So we wont have to fight it out at a convention.

I’m still of the opinion that he’ll win enough committed delegates. Any uncommitteds he gains on top will just be the salty icing in the open wounds of the GOPe.
GO TRUMP!
PING!
Can’t stump the Trump!
Time to change the rules NOW. The closer to the convention the worse it looks.
/s (I want Trump)
I am assuming he will take Arizona tonight. It will be interesting to see how many delegates he takes from Cruz in Utah.
Their tears will be delicious. Spoke to a neighbor of mine this afternoon and she is utterly disgusted with the GOPe and voted for Trump in the Primary. She’s an evangelical Christian.
IF they don’t change the rules.
Besides, Cruz says he’s going to win CA and also NY because “NY Values”.
So if the RNC denies him, I think a class action law suit is in order.
You see, I have donated thousands of dollars of my money to the RNC specifically for elections and the Presidential election over the years. I was explicitly told my money and my time were INVALUABLE to the success of my chosen candidate.
Now, I find out the RNC deliberately lied to me. If I had known this, I never would have donated my money and time I cannot get back.
I am quite certain the DNC is guilty of the same.
Gonna need lots and lots of straightjackets and thorazine over at The Blaze headquarters
1238 would be overkill.
The online voting in Utah, with direct Soros connections, seems ripe for massive fraud.
BTTT!
I haven't donated thousands--more like hundreds. But I've been getting more and more disillusioned with the RNC. I haven't donated since 2012. I won't donate again until it goes back to becoming the party of the people that it has always billed itself as.
Barely
Is that like being barely pregnant?
Teddy on track to LOSE.
I imagine Trump would say, `I’m not paying for a landslide.’
Go Trump.
Win win win!
Or W barely winning Florida in 2000...
Actually this is close to the truth. The lame media prognosticators have their heads up their butts. I've ran the number and 1,400 plus is likely in the grasp of Trump, and 1,237 is about a slam dunk.
Trump or Bust
