SALT LAKE CITY — Some Utah Republicans complained they ran into difficulties when they attempted to vote online Tuesday in their party's presidential preference election.
Both the state party offices and the help line set up by Smartmatic, the Florida-based company handling the online voting for the GOP, were deluged with calls from Utahns having problems casting their vote.

After the Gore-Bush events in FL, Sen Chris Dodd pushed HAVA Help America Vote Act. This promised FREE MONEY to State and Local Election boards, Secretarys of State, etc. Republicans, as well as Dems, grabbed for the FREE MONEY.
Of course, the FREE MONEY was to be used to hire Friends of Chris Dodd, Joe Manchin and others. As one FoD said: Its almost as if HAVA was written specifically for me.
The left wing IT contractors are mostly incompetent. The foreigners dont understand US election law. Of course, they do elections overseas and mess them up too.
That gives Jimmy Carter the chance to observe the elections and denounce imperialism.
In GA, it gives the Republican Secretary of State the opportunity to make an innocent worker the scapegoat for his bad management decisions that over-rode the advice of the CIOs and other staff who he kept firing for giving him good advice.

58 Republican delegates and 85 Democratic ones in a winner-take-all race. Polls will be open 8 a.m.-9 p.m. MST (9 a.m.-10 p.m. CST). The primary is closed, meaning voters have to be registered with their respective party to participate. Polls show Clinton and Trump in the lead in Arizona.
Utah
40 Republican delegates and 37 Democratic ones available with the delegates awarded proportionally based on final results. The Utah Republican Party Presidential Caucus starts at 7 p.m. MST (8 p.m. CST.) Democrat caucuses begin at 6 p.m. MST, or 7 p.m. CST. Republican caucuses are closed; all registered voters can participate in the Democratic caucus. Sanders and Cruz hold poll leads in Utah.
Idaho
Twenty-seven Democratic delegates are available in the Idaho caucus. The caucus will begin at 7 p.m.. MST (8 p.m. CST). Polls show Clinton and Sanders are locked in a close battle in the state.

As I’ve said many times, Cruz is one of them — the bad guys. When Soros supports a GOP candidate, that says all you need to know about that candidate.

I seriously doubt it's going to make any difference in this case. The Mormon church is pretty effective in mobilizing voters. In a caucus, where church leaders will be on hand to guide the voters to the appropriate selection, Utah is a given for Cruz.
If anything, I'd wager that the online voting screwups will work to Cruz's disadvantage, since Cruz no doubt had volunteers working to register out of state missionaries and retirement homes by the scores, since they would be unable to caucus in person.
I will consider it a major upset if Trump/Kasich even keep Cruz below 50 percent.
Interestingly, there is a sizable... and growing... ex-Mormon population in Utah. People have to officially resign from the Church to be out of it formally... they can't just stop attending, like a normal church. But I suspect that community will be voting in the democrat caucus.
I was thinking more along the lines of

beandog, the on line voting system would have been checked for accuracy just as every voting machine is checked by the election judge and asst. judge before they are put into service. The foul up on line would be user error.
