Donald Trump will no longer be allowed to call into NBC's signature Sunday news show "Meet The Press," according to a Sunday report in The New York Times.
"Meet The Press" moderator Chuck Todd told the Times on Friday that the frontrunner will have to appear in-person.
From the Times:
On Friday, Chuck Todd, the moderator of “Meet the Press,” told me he had only grudgingly allowed Mr. Trump to call in to his show earlier in the campaign, determining that he would rather have Mr. Trump take questions via phone than not at all.
Now, Mr. Todd said, he will no longer allow Mr. Trump to do prescheduled interviews by phone on the NBC program.
In the same report, Chris Wallace, host of Fox News' "Fox News Sunday," defended his decision to not allow Trump to make call-in interviews on his program. Wallace said he thought a potential "ratings hit" would be "a line worth holding."

well aren’t Chuck Todd and Mike Wallace such special little people? Candidates campaigning in the west, north and east, and they want them to fly to NY for a five-minute face-to-face. Bless their little hearts. Maybe Kasich can set up an office at their studios, since he’s not doing much else.
Then some other show or network will welcome his call in.
Naws, they just want him into the public arena, so he can be harassed. He’s surrounded by SS and personal security - it’s a hassle for him to go anyplace. F. chuck todd is a piss ant.
The article in the NYT points out that George Stephanopoulos on ABC was willing to do a phone interview on Sunday with him.

Todd is full of himself. Trump only needs Right Side media and You tube to send his message. Wait till Trump gets in orifice and turns out all the GOP E and their Media Chronies.
I found this to be a surprise.
I didn’t know Meet the Press was still on the air.
None of them said he couldn’t be on - so drop the whine. They said he can still be on but he has to appear in person - just like everyone else has since the start of TV. Why is Trump so special? Is he a prima donna?
But here’s the real reason they want him in person. They know Trump has a poor grasp of policy and often has gaffes when forced to go off script. Then his handlers have to spend the next day walking back what he said. When Trump calls in he has his handlers by his side telling him what to say. That gives him an advantage no one else has. It also explains why he is deathly afraid to debate Cruz one-on-one.
No more special treatment Donald. Take off the training wheels and go into the arena with the big boys.
They tried doing phone ins with Ted, but he came out all nasally and whiny.

He comes across as unable to answer tough questions without, possibly, the help of advisors. Flame away but he needs to be able to answer questions on his own and in person.
...and once he has the nomination, he can no longer appear at all. no more open mike nights. Only deviously edited video outtakes, and SNL parodies will be allowed on air, with heavy leftist commentary.
This will make a great commercial for Trump if Upchuck Todd interviews any other candidate on the phone from here on out.
The best way is to buy the time and broadcast it to the same audience Todd reaches. Point out upchucky’s hypocrisy.

Yet another thing that is all Trump’s fault.
These Sunday talk shows have NEVER had the attention/ratings like they’ve had, since Trump announced.
Go ahead....stop taking Trump’s calls....watch your ratings/viewership go back to nothing land.
