What to Expect in Utah and Arizona on Tuesday
PJ Media ^ | TYLER O'NEIL

Two more states vote on Tuesday, Utah and Arizona. After Donald Trump's big win last week, many might expect him to win big here, too. That might happen in Arizona, but don't bet on the Donald winning Utah.

Trump leads the polls in Arizona, the biggest remaining winner-take-all state in the GOP primary -- with 58 delegates up for grabs. Arizona has a closed primary, however, which means that only registered Republicans can vote -- a style that has tended to help Ted Cruz. Word on the ground in the state gives Cruz and Trump nearly equal odds of winning.

"I think Cruz will pull the upset," Kurt Davis, a neutral Republican in Arizona and close confidante of Senator John McCain, told The Hill. "He's the only candidate with any kind of organization out here and they have him positioned to spring the upset. They just have to deliver." In the two polls released this month, Trump leads Cruz by 12 and 14 points, but much of Marco Rubio's old support has swung behind the Texas senator. Cruz may have a fighting chance in Arizona only because Rubio dropped out last week.

FL was also a closed primary, didn’t do Rubio or Cruz or Kasich any good.

Trump will win AZ easily, and hold Cruz under 50 percent in UT, and pick up delegates there.

Trump will extend his lead over Cruz by about 50 delegates.

For Trump to win the night tomorrow

Win Arizona
and keep Cruz under 50 percent

I think both can be achieved.

If not, well on to Wisconsin.

Author is correct on Utah. Delusional regarding Arizona.

Enormous red flag that the author is either an idiot or a paid shill.

Louisiana and Nevada were closed primaries, as well as more recently Florida, where Trump won EVERY COUNTY except Miami-Dade.

The #NeverTrump stooges should get some new fake talking points.

Agreed. Trump will win AZ. No way do I see Cruz winning here.

I guess we’ll see in the next couple weeks. Cruz + Rubio wouldn’t have beaten Trump in Florida. :)

Stop with the inconvenient facts.
Ted will be the only nominee getting below 20% in swing states who can win in November!
(I read it on FR, it must be true)

Dream on! Didn’t help him a bit in Florida, a closed primary state where Cruz finished THIRD! EVERY County except Miami-Dade which went to Rubio was won by Trump. Not a single county voted for Cruz from the panhandle to the Florida Keys.

As a Loyal Arizona resident I would not vote for Trump to be the city street sweeper.

Florida is an oddball case. There are so many double registered Northern Liberals there, it skews most of the results. That said, I’ll be surprised if Cruz can win Arizona.
