Could Early Voting Elect Donald Trump and Skew the System?
National Review ^ | March 20, 2016 | John Fund

Arizona’s primary on Tuesday is now a “yuuge” factor in the Republican nominating process. If Donald Trump were to win even a small plurality of votes, he would win all of the state’s 58 delegates and keep his momentum going.

But the results in this important primary might be skewed. Arizona is an early-voting state, and people can cast ballots up to 26 days before the actual primary. As of last Thursday, 249,000 Republicans in Maricopa County alone (where Phoenix is located) had already cast ballots. That’s already more votes than the total cast in Maricopa in the 2012 GOP primary.

Early voting is a big advantage for Donald Trump, who tends to do very poorly among late deciders in primaries. “That banking of votes early on does help Trump tremendously, no matter what happens,” Richard Herrara, a political-science professor at Arizona State University, told the New York Post Friday. “He’s probably got a pretty sizable lead, so he’s just got to hold on.”

I can only surmise Donald Trump is poised to win Arizona tomorrow, as both the Cruz campaign itself, and its media allies such as The National Review here, are already spinning a loss, and blaming early voting.

I can’t wait for the story about, ‘will online voting in Utah steal the election from trump due to fraud?” I imagine we’ll wait along time for an honest story like that.

TRUMP BALLOT SECURITY PROJECT
Committee to Restore America’s Greatness PAC
FR Posted 3/19/16 by Albion Wilde

The Trump Ballot Security Project (TBSP) was formed when the main stream media reported dozens of voting irregularities in the Texas Republican primary. This ultimately totaled over 600 reports in at least six counties including Dallas County and Travis County. (NOTE:Even though @realDonaldTrump won delegates in Texas the @TedCruz- @georgepbush #RickPerry cabal is refusing to slate Trump supporters.)

In virtually every case votes cast for Donald J. Trump were tallied for Senator Marco Rubio. The TBSP established a Toll Free number to collect further reports of voter irregularities.

Almost immediately there were over 300 complaints from Oklahoma. Only a week later the Kansas and Maine Caucuses brought hundreds of more complaints including claims of double voting by supporters of Sen. Ted Cruz.

Now we are focused on Arizona, Utah, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and California. To the extent possible, we are attempting to place trained poll watchers in those counties with a recent history of voter fraud.

The Trump Ballot Security Project is committed to investigating all complaints of voter fraud. In the event a pattern can be determined, the seating of these delegations can and will be challenged before the Credentials committee of the Republican National Convention.

We have dispatched lawyers and election law experts to all of the states mentioned above to investigate and document voter fraud. NOTE The Trump campaign is not currently devoting resources to this important function.

TBSP is a project of the Committee To Restore America's Greatness

Skew the system? Oh that’s grand coming from a group of people who are trying to make Trump miss the delegate count by 1 so they can swing the nomination to someone else

Blame the Democrats and their willing accomplices in the Republican Party. No where in the Constitution is early voting allowed. One could say that for Federal Elections it is completely unconstitutional given that a precise day is given for Federal Elections’ the first Tuesday after the First Monday in November’.

Democrats want voting nonstop until they win the election and RINO Republicans could care less as long as they get the chance to collect cash from The Chamber of Commerce and other lobbyists.

Wasn't early voting a scheme that the invisible hand thought would allow those who control things to get votes in the bank in case momentum swayed to an outsider as the campaign progressed?

Payback's a *itch.

The GOPe rigged the system this way to allow Jeb to win the nomination. They just didn't anticipate DJT showing up with a poleaxe.

Yup. That is exactly the point of the article.

BTW Trump probably will get a boost from the protests against him in Tucson and Phoenix. Anybody that scares the libtard commies that much has to be doing something right. They hate the idea of America being "Great Again".

I’m with you. Even though in this instance it is benefitting my guy, I am thoroughly opposed to early voting on principle.

Think of all those Democrats casting their early vote for Hillary two weeks before she’s indicted. Eventually something like that WILL happen.

Yep. It’s like all the Dem rule changes that allowed Dukakis to win, then they went back and changed it all again, which is how Clinton got in.

John Fund at National Review, so under other circumstances it could be 'Could Lack of Early Voting Elect Donald Trump and Skew the System?' Or 'Could Late Voting Elect Donald Trump and Skew the System?' Or even 'Could a Buffet Table with Cold Salmon at his campaign HQ Elect Donald Trump and Skew the System?'

I’m just wondering who rattled Fund’s cage and got him up from his slumber, he’s been rather busy the last couple days. Or maybe the anti-Trump cabal are sleeping on the job and not catching his screeds to post.

I’ve never voted early in my life, takes away half the fun!

John Fund misses an important point.

People who early-vote are dead certain of who they are supporting. Nothing is going to change their mind.

They are immune to big-money interests dropping in during the last weekend to tell people who they should vote for.

I early voted in Tennessee when the establishment was consolidating around Rubio. That seems like ten years ago; It was less than a month.

Trump will win Arizona tomorrow. I also think he will do better in Utah and Cruz will have less that 50% there but win it. The big problem for Cruz is he needs to win both Utah and Arizona one won’t be enough. He already needs more than 80% of the remaining delegates. Trump in the what I consider the worst case scenario will have +1200 going into the convention and that is assuming he doesn’t blow out states like NY which he is likely to do. Cruz has no real shot of securing the nomination before the convention and anyone who is honest knows his shot at the convention is very unlikely. If the GOP-E is going to pissed off Trump’s voters who are the most engaged and enthusiastic then they certainly won’t have any trouble screwing over Ted Cruz.
