DONALD TRUMPS primary victories Tuesday present the Republican Party with a stark choice. Should leaders unite behind Mr. Trump, who has collected the most delegates but may reach the convention in July without a nominating majority? Or should they do everything they can to deny him the nomination? On a political level, this may be a dilemma. As a moral question, it is straightforward. The mission of any responsible Republican should be to block a Trump nomination and election.
We do not take this position because we believe Mr. Trump is perilously wrong on the issues, although he is. His proposed tariff on Chinese imports could spark a trade war and global depression. His proposed tax plan would bankrupt the government while enriching his fellow multimillionaires. But policy proposals, however ill-formed and destructive, are not the crux of the danger.

WaPo can EABOD.
To defend our democracy against Trump?
Exactly how is he threatening Democracy?
Right. The WaPo is giving advise to republicans.
The Washington Post is now trying to “help” conservatism?
ROFL!!
what a load!!!
GO TRUMP!!!
We have to defend ourselves against people like the Washington Post Editorial Board. The Establishment mouthpiece like the NYT. They support BLM, LaRaza, Moceon, anti-second amendment groups, multiculturalism (but not single class) power in the federal government. They are the fascists and communists of our day complete with elites and attitudes toward the general population.
Wow!
Even the Compost is campaigning for Trump!
Because the Washington Post always has our best interests at heart...gmafb.
We are coming for you! We are establishing our democracy and will smite the evil oligarchy, to which YOU are a member!
The most clear and present danger to “democracy” is the GOPe and the left trying to twart the will of the people.
Stealing elections is NOT democracy, democracy is “majority wins”.
I guess in their view of a democracy the people do not get what they vote for... that said we have not been getting it since 1984 anyway...
The WaPo has once again demonstrated why so many people are standing in line eager to vote this election.
FU WaPo.
We have had enough.
You Alinski...we triple Alinski.
It is long past time for your shi...er...Obama offal to be shoved in your mouth.
Of the contestants that have left the field and have RNC delegates assigned to them in the primaries (Fiorina, Carson, Rubio: Which one has fully released their delegates?
Reince Priebus has “promised” each contestant that THERE WILL BE A BROKERED CONVENTION!
I still support Cruz but the “smoky back room” crap is making me more jaded every day!
LOL, I’m surprised they didn’t end it with “vote for Cruz!” Hey, I should go through it point by point and show how the dems have been doing the same things for the past 60 ? years! don’t want to waste my time.
We had to burn down the village to save it.
We have to disenfranchise the voters to save democracy.
Global economy is nearly in recession as we speak. Governments are in debt beyond repair. Yet Donald Trump, a private business person worth billions, is going to screw things up.
Government is the problem not the solution. R.R.
After which the Washington Post will wholeheartedly endorse Hillary Clinton for President.
It’s not about defending the democracy, it’s all about defending the oligarchy.
