After Super Tuesday 2.0 Donald Trump is on track to secure the Republican nomination.
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) would need 87% of remaining primary voters to win the nomination.
It might be time for Ted Cruz to drop out and endorse Donald J. Trump?
The New York Times reported:
Donald J. Trump’s series of victories on Tuesday extended his delegate lead and forced Senator Marco Rubio of Florida out of the presidential race. Mr. Trump’s path to winning enough delegates to secure the Republican nomination is not assured, but he is in a strong position.
Here are some ways the Republican nominating contest could unfold. Try adjusting the sliders to see how the outcomes change. Each line in the chart represents one possible outcome.
If Mr. Trump maintains his current level of support in the remaining races, he would almost certainly secure the nomination.
After Tuesday’s contests, no other candidate retains a real chance of capturing the delegates required to win the nomination outright. Mr. Rubio dropped out, Gov. John Kasich of Ohio is too far behind, and Senator Ted Cruz of Texas would need to win the vast majority of the remaining delegates — a near impossibility.

And... nothing's been mentioned about the eventual destination of Rubio's delegates as well. This isn't over yet.
“Ted Cruz does not need to go into the convention with the majority of the delegates to win the nomination. All he has to do is keep Donald Trump from getting the majority.”
Cruz can’t win 1,237. Let him apply the same standard to himself that he did to Rubio and Kasich - that if you cannot mathematically win the nomination, it is time to pack it in and stop dividing the Party.
He’s going to lose AZ next week - that’s 58 more delegates in Trump’s pocket, raising the bar to over 90% of the remaining delegates for Cruz to get to 1,237 - and that will never happen. Ronald Reagan could rise from the grave and endorse him, and he wouldn’t win that much. So, time to leave with his dignity and his (still very bright) political future intact.
As far as the argument goes, all I've seen are unsupported assertions, repeated over and over. You're claiming to be able to predict the outcome of the election in November and trying to insult me into believing it's true and I'm not buying it.
“Soros Backs the GOPe which is Backing Cruz in the Stop Trump campaign...”
That is BS and you know it!
The day Trump starts going after Hillary is a serious way is the day the useless MFM starts going after Trump in a serious way.
They have been giving Trump a pass, because it suits their purposes to have Trump leading the Republican field. But as soon as he becomes a threat to Hillary, the avalanche of slime will begin.
If this happens soon, Trump will never get his majority of delegates.
Yes Cruz needs to drop out.
My point was, we haven't had meaningful primaries past Super Tuesday for nearly 40 years now.
I happen to agree with you that the primary process should be changed so that less than 10 states don't dictate the candidates for the rest of us.
My own opinion is that primaries should be held in a maximum of 90 days, and in two stages, if required.
Stage 1: Sixty Day Sprint. All candidates campaign in this sixty days. Primaries are held on day sixty in all 50 states. If a Democrat or Republican Candidate gets more than 50% of the vote, they become that party's Presidential Candidate. If not, we move onto Stage 2.
Stage 2: Thirty Day Sprint. Of the remaining candidates (D and/or R) the top two candidates in either party have thirty days to make their case to the American People. On day thirty, the run-off primary occurs. Since there will be a max of two candidates in either party running, the candidate who gets over 50% becomes that party's candidate.
The beautiful thing about my solution: LESS POLITICAL ADS, shortened primary season, and an elimination of any "brokered" or "contested" convention. The will of the People is expressed in the Primaries and those candidates move forward and run for President.
Neat, clean, simple.
Soros Backs the GOPe which is Backing Cruz in the Stop Trump campaign - So yes hes Backing Cruz as a tool to stop Trump.
If only Kasich will drop out..ain’t going to happen
Hardly. The numbers are against you. You know it. I know it. But you're willing to risk a Republican revolt under the rubric of "process."
By his own repeated admission, he is no longer trying to win, but only trying to stop Trump. Just like his Establishment buddies and democrats.
And Rush still claims Cruz is the most hated.
You keep saying that, but how does Cruz get the nomination?
He can’t. With Arizona next week, and the NE states in April, Trump will rack up another 300+ delegates. Cruz would need to win 110% of the remaining delegates. Cruz CAN NOT WIN.
The Rubio and Kasich delegates are not going to go to Cruz on the first ballot. They’re there to deny Trump an outright win. And is it goes to a second ballot, we’re getting the GOPe choice. Not Trump. Not Cruz. Establishment.
The choice is to get behind Trump and work together to beat Hillary in the fall, or play the contested convention game and get stuck with a Bush/Kasich ticket for the general.
“Can a Trumpster discuss anything without issuing a threat?”
Cruz has to decide 1) whether to exit gracefully now (or soon, maybe after AZ) and both unify the Party and give us the best chance against Hillary or, alternatively, 2) to keep fighting for no particular purpose and effectively throw the election to Hillary. He is NOT going to win on the 2nd ballot, the GOPe will never allow it...it is going to be a complete free-for-all if no one gets 1,237 on the first ballot, and I can guarantee you that the GOPe is already leaning on delegates to vote for a “consensus” candidate (Yeb! or Marco or Romney) in that case.
I like Cruz - a LOT - but he needs to choose Door #1. We MUST stop Hillary, and ANY Republican would be better than her.
See, no threats, just a rational discussion. We may disagree, but it is a civilized disagreement.
All of your "numbers" are somebody's speculation. None of them are objectively verifiable. It's all a classic PsyOps "Bandwagon" routine.
Trump has already named two possible judges for Scalia’s replacement. Both very conservative. Diane Sykes and Tom Pryor.
Try to at least think of something to say that has a grain of credibility.
Are you kidding me? Have you NOT been watching the primaries?
“Soros Backs the GOPe which is Backing Cruz in the Stop Trump campaign - So yes hes Backing Cruz as a tool to stop Trump.”
‘David Duke is backing Trump...because he is a tool to stop Cruz.’
See how stupid it sounds.
Soros has business deals with Trump, so is Trump backed by soros?
