This is just Obama being a butt and also I think the Constitution requires him to name somebody. He knows the Senate will never confirm anybody til he’s gone.

Everyone on the Supreme Court graduated from Harvard or Yale law schools. Justice Scalia was Harvard law. Not diverse at all!!!
I am Jewish but this guy Merrick Garland would be the fourth Jew which is crazy.
BTW he is the first Jew with name Merrick I have ever heard of.
The media considers Ruth Bader Ginsburg to be a "moderate" Supreme Court appointee. If this guy is confirmed, he will vote like Karl Marx.
I guess Obama decided to play nice with Republicans, by his standards anyway. Democrat Underground and the ACLU don’t like Garland and NOW is notably lukewarm. Still, I’m pleasantly surprised that McConnell is standing firm.
NOBODY Obama selects should be voted on. Planned Parenthood’s CEO Cecile Richards visited the White House soon after the pick, and Obama also picked Garland because of his anti-2ndA history.
Furthermore, we can’t trust all Republicans to vote wisely. Gingsburg won by getting around 98% of the votes.
She’s only “moderate” next to Sotomayor and Kagan.
