Boehner endorses Paul Ryan for President

Former House Speaker John Boehner Wednesday endorsed current House Speaker Paul Ryan to be the Republican presidential nominee.

At the Republican convention, “anybody can be nominated,” Boehner said at a conference in Boca Raton, Fla.

“If we don’t have a nominee who can win on the first ballot, I’m for none of the above,” Boehner said. "They all had a chance to win. None of them won. So I’m for none of the above. I’m for Paul Ryan to be our nominee.”

Over the last few months, Boehner has privately said that he thought Ryan would be a good candidate to heal a fractured party. The former speaker — who splits his time between Florida, Ohio and D.C. — has said in casual conversations that he thinks Ryan would be a good option if the party has not coalesced around a GOP candidate before the convention. Ryan's staff has recoiled at the notion, saying it was an "incredibly remote scenario," and the "speaker has no interest in it."

Exactly!

These establishment Republicans aren’t thinking of the entire ballot.

If I’m mad because they stole the election, I’m less likely to vote for my RINO congressman (that’s all I have right now) if I have to write Trump in.

They are going to come around and accept reality. Trump or Cruz will be the nominee and my money's on Trump.

Imagine the fallout if Trump goes into the convention having won the majority of states and the most delegates, but not a clear majority and the nomination goes to someone else, someone who didn't even participate in the process. The GOP will lose the WH, Congress and state Houses and Governorships all across the country. It would be an epic disaster.

I saw that actor in a movie over the weekend, playing bad guy fake FBI agent. He got a bullet in the forehead at the end.

Wouldn’t they have to change rule that the nominee must have win 8 states?

This is the actual plan now. They would destroy the Republican party right there. Actually, this isn’t funny, they actually are thinking this way and the GOPe consists now of losers who are now going dangerously mental. We need to remove them from their power before they start plotting with the enemies of Democracy to attack America globally.

Yea, and the American people "could" come up there, frog-march you all into the streets and decorate some lamp posts.....

They really believe they own the party, dont they?

Yes and for years I've been saying "let those lying weasels have it". The rest of us should just form a party of our own and let the GOPe spend the rest of their lives going to cocktail parties and stammering about how they were betrayed and how they ought to still be in office somewhere.
