CHICAGO — Leaders of more than 20 leading liberal groups supporting both Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are set to release a scathing letter on Tuesday that serves as a progressive call to arms against Donald Trump, imploring Americans to undertake a unified set of concrete steps to oppose the Republican front-runner — from protesting to organizing large-scale voter turnout efforts.
“This is a five-alarm fire for our democracy. A hate-peddling bigot who openly incites violence is the likely presidential nominee of one of our nation’s two major parties. It is alarming and dangerous. Donald Trump’s candidacy is a threat to the America we love, and we must respond to him and what he is stoking as such,” reads the letter, which was obtained first by POLITICO. It is signed by top officials of Sanders-backing groups like MoveOn.org and Clinton-backing organizations including the Services Employees International Union.
Many of these groups have primarily focused on mobilizing their millions of members — and spending significant sums of money — for their preferred candidate in the Democratic primary thus far. The letter recognizes a significant shift in thinking among them, with leaders in the party’s left wing now setting their sights more squarely on Trump rather than the protracted battle between Clinton and Sanders. The signatures are acknowledgments from leaders of those organizations that the time has come to more seriously confront Trump — who could, they warn, actually win.

“There was no way the political powers that be wanted a successful Trump event in the city. They didn’t want anyone to see that there was a base in a Democratic city for Trump. They didn’t want to see the police challenge BLM in any meaningful way. And in a Sanctuary City, you can’t treat your Hispanic base with anything but kid gloves. Especially when those groups are doing the dirty work of running Trump out of town.
They wanted Trump run out. They wanted a narrative of “free speech”, so long as “free speech” was from the Left.

Trump is over the target, and the bomb bay doors are open. The Leftists are PETRIFIED of him - he will take a lot of their voters, he will challenge them on voter fraud, he will not be the typical passive Republican who just takes what they dish out - he will dish out plenty of his own. They simply cannot deal with actual competition, because they know that they’ll lose.
They’ll lose the Courts, they’ll lose a lot of the benefits that they bribe their voters with, they’ll lose on immigration...and Trump will unleash the creative juices and drive of the people of this country like no one since Reagan - and the giant lie that is Leftism will be exposed.
They fear him, and that’s why they are so rabid in their opposition. I believe that Republican voters can and should take that into account when deciding upon their choice in the primaries. I’ve done my part already, now it is up to others.

I think Trump will win NC and Fla. From most of the NC polls I saw, I don’t think Cruz is mounting enough of a challenge. I voted for Sanders in the NC primary. Hopefully he can pull off NC and help deplete Hillary’s war chest.

I’m not a Trump supporter, but if leftists continue to storm and disrupt his rallies, I won’t lose any sleep if some of them get bloody noses. I’m tired of the left burning down neighborhoods, blocking highways, advocating that cops be killed, storming government offices, shutting down free speech, attacking conservative speakers, and never once being called-out by the MSM.
We are going to have to start punching them in the face.
