Donald Trump was forced to cancel a Friday campaign rally scheduled in Chicago, ahead of Illinois primary on Tuesday, as thousands of protesters marched outside the planned venue for the rally, raising the threat of possible violence.

>>> But was there anything really gained or achieved after the Chicago riots in 68?
The term Silent Majority was invented (and I’ve heard it used again in the last week). Nixon won in a landslide. The press used its power to destroy him (though perhaps he contributed to his own demise by getting in the gutter with the commies to fight them, thus giving the press the fodder they needed)
I don't know about some epic takeover but just 4 years later the Democrat nominee was George McGovern, so yes 1968 was the beginning of the Leftist takeover, there is no way McGovern would have been nominated in a sane would. They had been toying with it from the FDR days but went over the cliff in 72.
Thanks for your service, knarf.
My mom was an immigrant to America in 1920—she became a citizen of America at the age of 50—in 1967 also.
She flew the American flag from our porch everyday, all throughout the Vietnam War.
The only house for blocks around to do so.
She was 4’10” of a “I don’t give a damn what anyone thinks” type of gal.
She was the Barbara Fritchie of our area.
Chicago is a lot dirt bag of a city.
Wait ‘till we get to Cleveland in this summer.
This was Trump throwing down on Rahm Emmanuel. Come into his town, and hold a huge rally.
The counter to this was Emmanuel saying “not in my town”.
[This is why Trump should have gone to the burbs and stayed away from Chicagoland.]
TRUMP flushed out the agitators and exposed who they are. Last night should be a ‘wake up’ call to those sitting on the sidelines watching NETFLIX. (Unfortunately he majority of them don’t even know what is going on beyond the TV and the refrigerator.)
Wasn’t 1968,when the hard hat blue collar workers decided they had enough of the hippie, anti-America protesters and chased them off the steets of NYC?
I understand Bill Ayres showed up at the protest.Reliving his glory days from the sixties Chicago Days of Rage?
Or did the in home healthcare worker leave the keys on the table and he ended up wandering in a Chicago daze in a senile rage?
I think that Rahm should be scared of this. If these agitators can do this to an outsider, imagine what they can do against Rahm. This will only embolden the agitators especially the BLM that is already going after Rahm.
For now....Rahm has them in his pocket. They will turn on him if they think they can beat him. I would imagine there is an uneasy truce between them. Rahm needs to be very careful.
More a result than an achievement, the left-wing extremists gained a large beachhead in the Democrat party and have been advancing ever since.......with the GOP following at a distance.
Where do you think those rally attendees came from? They sure weren't from the near North side or the South side of Chicago. My guess is places like Downers Grove, Des Plaines etc.
1970
Saw on a video last night via Breitbart, from CNN, that Trump should have avoided downtown Chicago and gone to the burbs, where there would have been a much friendly group of folks. Plus also those who would agree with him.
That is starting to change as of this year.
Yep and this will help give Trump the election.
By the time Cleveland comes, that will safe to say those same agitators will be getting into the very faces of the “NETFLIC” crowd.
these people are paid just like the protesters in Ferguson....
