I was a huge fan of hers at the start until she basically said the same exact thing all the time.

Trump has the same issue. He has nothing original, no actual plans to speak of....it’s just bluster and bravado. And, he’s not conservative and will bring out record numbers of voters to just vote against him in the general.

As much as I like Cruz, he can’t win anybody but conservatives.

Hillary has won the presidency already and the primaries aren’t even over.

I can’t believe I am actually reading people who say Cruz is not conservative, but Trump is.

This forum is lost to the conservative cause. No wonder I never come here anymore.

I’m sure you have checked out all of Trump’s glowing statements about Democrats, too? The difference is, Carly changed a long time ago. Trump changed almost overnight very recently.

Neil Bush isn’t running for President. The Donald is a Crony Capitialist, something “conservatives” have claimed they hated. He’s been buying politicians for years so he can get richer and richer. He is know better than the politicans he bought.

I’m beginning to think that conservatives were always a minority on FR. Just like the supposed people claiming they are “evangelicals” yet support abortion. You can’t be an evangelical and support abortion just like you can’t claim the Donald is a conservative and Sen. Cruz is not. In both cases you are just lying to yourself.

It has gotten so bad with these people that now Carly Fiorna is a terrible person because she supports Sen. Cruz, but Chris Christie, is a great American because he supports the Donald

I don’t blame you for staying away.

Government shut down: He said, “Let it shut down.”
Abortion as a political issue: He says, “bring it.”
Obama’s immigration oversteps.
Second Amendment issue.
Benghazi
IRS abuses

He’s been one of few people in power persistently to push back. Trump’s done nothing but run his big mouth.

If that’s what it takes to get a staunch conservative in office, go for it.

People need to remember that what’s most important about these endorsements is not so much about why the candidate accepts the endorsement as it is about the motive behind the person endorsing. Few people running will reject an endorsement unless the individual is toxic, so you can’t say that Cruz accepting the endorsement is proof that he’s establishment. The proof is in the endorsement itself. What is motivating all these establishment Republicans to endorse Cruz? They know he’s one of their own.

In a month, when Trump has the nomination locked, we’ll begin to see establishment politicians pledging their support for Trump - when it no longer matters. And critics will accuse Trump of being establishment because he graciously accepts their endorsement. And those critics will miss the point that the two endorsements are totally different. The endorsements that are taking place now, when the contest is still in doubt, reveal who the endorsing politician wants to see as the winner. The endorsements of Trump by RINO’s, that will take place a month from now will be because they understand Trump has it wrapped up and want to make their peace with him. Above all else, politicians want to survive.

wow so you are for the establishment ?

Looks like Trump has certainly pushed out in the open.

Make sure you get you national review subscription and a nice thank you card from the establishment and Cruz. They are so proud of you and thank you for supporting their dirty tactics and lies while they gave Obama everything he wanted.

Ted may be being used to deny just enough delegates to Trump to force a convention fight(no 1270 delegates to Trump)....I predict such!

“Government shut down: He said, “Let it shut down.””

Most of us said the same thing, and with the same impact as when he said it.

“Abortion as a political issue: He says, “bring it.””

Most of us said the same thing, and with the same impact as when he said it.

“Obama’s immigration oversteps.
Second Amendment issue.
Benghazi
IRS abuses”

Whatever he said or did made no difference.

“He’s been one of few people in power persistently to push back. Trump’s done nothing but run his big mouth.”

Trump have never been in the government, but, in other words, they both had the exact same impact on the issues you mentioned.

What stinks is I loved this place from 2000 onto roughly when Obama got in office. Just became super negative. Would come here multiple times a day. There is something I think to the idea that Trump attracts people who are looking for a “strongman” type figure. It’s the only explanation to me. It’s so odd to see people just toss out all their litmus tests because he “talks tough.” Nobody else could get away with that and would be crucified for once walking past an abortion clinic 30 years ago.

Yup he’s establishment alright....lol...lol.

Everything he’s done is ANTI-establishment. We are VERY proud of our Senator in Texas!

Do a little research before you pop off again.

I consider removing governmental restraints on the free market as Conservative. I consider the best way to create millions of jobs is to get the government the hell out of the way. Conservatism does not pick winners and losers. Conservatism does not protect blue collar jobs that can no longer compete in a global market. Conservatism allows businesses to fail and be replaced by better businesses.

The biggest restraint on unbridled capitalism that we currently face is the systemic taxation of wealth and capital created outside of our borders. Trump not only supports that taxation, he proposes expanding it.

American companies are storing exorbitant sums of money outside our borders because they will be taxed if they bring that money into the US. GM is making billions of dollars in China, but they won't bring those profits back into the US to modernize here because they will be heavily taxed. Instead, they invest those dollars overseas where they aren't taxed. Ted Cruz wants to remove these idiotic restraints so that those companies can bring those profits back here tax free and invest them in the US. That is Conservatism. That is getting government the hell out of the way. And that is something that Donald Trump does not support.
