Less than a week after House Speaker Paul Ryan went after Republican front-runner Donald Trump for failing to disavow David Duke and the KKK, the former vice presidential nominee has spoken over the phone with the controversial candidate about developing a Republican agenda.
And in addition to Trump, Ryan, R-Wis., has also spoken to Senator Ted Cruz, a Republican from Texas, "to explain House Republicans' plan to present a bold conservative policy agenda this year," the speaker's press secretary, AshLee Strong, told NBC News Monday.
Speaker Ryan also plans to have similar calls with Republican presidential candidates Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Ohio Governor John Kasich, she said....

Notice how good ol' NBC News slipped that in there. In the opening sentence, no less.
WTH.
Why post utter garbage?
Gee. I hope he didn’t have to work the phone on a weekend?! I know how important that is to.....him.
yep saw how NBC ran their coverage there.
Course they did not include the truth that Trump did disavow Duke.
Right now we see a massive attack by the establishment heling Cruz.
The media
the talking pundits.
guess you can tell who a man is by his enemies and it seems Trump has all the right ones.
....my guess is, it was a recon mission by the GOPe to try to find out what’s next
Is that the same Paul Ryan who will be running for VP with Romney once the Trump and Cruz problems are dealt with?
One and the same. Far as I can recall the first sitting Speaker of the House to run for the Vice Presidential nomination.
He’s not satisfied with being third in line for the presidency, he wants to be second.
Oh, please.
Like the globalist Ryan is going to enact anything conservative.
Maybe Trump should ask him why the establishment is endorsing Cruz over him and attacking him to keep Cruz in the race after they made his sign a pledge.
The absurd thing about it is:
It's the year 2016, and a discussion of the freaking Ku Klux Klan has entered the presidential election race.
It's beyond absurd.
The Republican party seems to be completely incapable of shutting this kind of thing down.
Every election, the Klan boogie man makes an appearance, courtesy of the media.
The GOP should have glued the Klan label onto the Democrats decades ago.
Our side is singularly obsessed with ideology and has completely forgotten about salesmanship, message, optics, image, and media strategy.
Yup...exactly right...obvious...
Its prelude to his convention move to replace the legitimate nominee.
I'm not so sure about that, that would be suicide...
Ryan has some leverage as Speaker...not enough to replace Trump or Cruz...
I hadn’t hit the abuse button in years, but I did last night on a beyond-disgusting post against Cruz. Sexual fetishy. Absolutely something straight out of the DUmp (even worse than what we’ve been seeing around here lately). That post hasn’t been removed yet and who knows if it ever will be. Hopefully the one you reported will be removed; it’s really disgusting, too. It’s like anything goes these days.
Sounds more like “bargaining” to me.
well said
In the back door.
With a porcupine.
Rotating at high speed.
I think Trump should choose Pinestraw as VP.
