Limbaugh: Romney's Attack On Trump "Is Nothing New," "They Tried To Deny Reagan"
realclearpolitics.com ^ | March 6, 2016

National Radio Talk Show host Rush Limbaugh joins Chris Wallace for an exclusive interview discussing his take on the feud between Donald Trump and Mitt Romney, and Trump's prospects in the election going forward.

"His dad did much the same thing against Barry Goldwater with a cabal of Republicans, establishment guys, back in 1964," Limbaugh said about Romney. "This is not new. The establishment not wanting outsiders, not wanting conservatives is not new... They were this way with Ronald Reagan before Reagan was elected. They tried to deny Reagan in '76 and they tried to deny Reagan in 1980. They're not conservative."

"I think with the case of Trump, there’s a much bigger upside than downside,” Limbaugh concluded. "A lot of people disagree with me on this but the people who want somebody not of Washington, it's serious this time. It's real."

A) I never said I represent class. Far from it.

B) I am prone to posting juvenile insults but I don't think I posted any on this particular thread.

I’m going to continue to defend my position. If you no longer wish to do the same, that’s fine. Your choice.

“This is our generation’s “go” time”

Excellent, well-thought out post.

I hope many will read it and really think about what you said.

Put Mark Levin in with this bunch. He has totally ripped it with me. I always liked him although I disagreed with him on his take on Lincoln, but I could forgive that. The way he has sided with Cruz and trashed Trump is unforgivable as far as I am concerned. I listen to someone else during his time slot.

"Isn’t this article about something Trump and Reagan have in common? That’s a comparison."

You didn't read it, did you. Quelle surprise.

Wallisp was asking Rush about the establishment forces brought against candidates Reagan and Trump. And the similarities are startling.

But on to Cruz lol:

"Anyway, Senator Cruz thinks that if he can get those voters, that -- and everybody else votes the same way they did in 2012, they can win in a landslide. So, he's tailored his message for a specific conservative evangelical. I think it's limited his appeal." - Rush "Even a Stopped Clock Can Tell The Time Twice a Day" Limbaugh

That was in 1976, not 1980.

I’m not sure what you are complaining about, since your post lacks class, too. Demonstrate what you wish others to emulate.

Doesn’t matter. His ratings always soar in an election year. Who cares what you think. You will show him. Just like all the people boycotting Fox News - they have record ratings. LOL!

I agree with you. Trump and Reagan should not even be mentioned in the same sentence. One is world class and the other is (complete it the way you want).

Now, if you would only stop posting, then it would mean something.

Perhaps, but Romney can spell and talk in complete sentences. Unlike Trump who talks in phrases. He can't articulate any details, but he can sure spout his poll numbers when he can't answer the question.

Trump being mocked and made fun of just like he dishes out has worked. He squeaked by on Saturday in two states that he was supposed to win easily. Trump was expected to crush in Maine and he lost and was creamed in Kansas. Trump lost those who voted in Louisiana on Saturday by 10 points. He won only because of the early voters.

Trump will need to act like a human being from now on and actually learn policy if he wants to win.

Yep - Romney's now trying to leverage Nancy's death as a political stunt to make him more likable/believable - probably with full urging of NRC and GOPe.

The People will be further disgusted and he will have the exact opposite effect that he's counting on - in SPADES!!!

From now on, "Nitwit" will now be pronounced "Mittwit" - it has been proclaimed.

Don’t really know what you mean by the insult, but I’m sure I will manage. Good day.

"I am sure he could care less but I think I am not the only one who has stopped listening to Rush."

Almost a year for me.

Let me offer Freeper's another alternative:

Jeff Kuhner, WRKO 680 am out of Boston. You can listen via their free-app from your app store, or on-line.

This guy is good, and is supposed to go national. He was doing so well at 9 to 12 they moved him to Rush's slot and fired Rush. IMHO when he goes national he will give El-Rushbo a run for his money...

That is great but a talk show host as VP??
That wouldn’t help the ticket very much. We need someone who has name recognition and gravitas. I hope Trump and Cruz eventually team up.

>>> And the similarities are startling.

If you compare them in this way perhaps the two have this in common. I was comparing them in more important ways and hoping others will too.

>>You didn’t read it, did you.

Yes I did. I also know what the word “compare” means.

How nice. I WAS ok with trump getting the nomination if Cruz did not, but his nastiness and his followers as well has turned me devoutly against him.
