Limbaugh: Romney's Attack On Trump "Is Nothing New," "They Tried To Deny Reagan"
realclearpolitics.com ^ | March 6, 2016

National Radio Talk Show host Rush Limbaugh joins Chris Wallace for an exclusive interview discussing his take on the feud between Donald Trump and Mitt Romney, and Trump's prospects in the election going forward.

"His dad did much the same thing against Barry Goldwater with a cabal of Republicans, establishment guys, back in 1964," Limbaugh said about Romney. "This is not new. The establishment not wanting outsiders, not wanting conservatives is not new... They were this way with Ronald Reagan before Reagan was elected. They tried to deny Reagan in '76 and they tried to deny Reagan in 1980. They're not conservative."

"I think with the case of Trump, there’s a much bigger upside than downside,” Limbaugh concluded. "A lot of people disagree with me on this but the people who want somebody not of Washington, it's serious this time. It's real."

I’m not sure who is left for Trump supporters. Rush is out. As is Mark Levin, Thomas Sowell, anyone who ever wrote for NR...

his credibility with at least this Trump supporter, he is sorely mistaken.

Trump supporters will evaporate for any forced candidate. They will likely only support Trump. ANYONE other than Trump will be viewed as an legitimate nominee. This started as soon as Romney opened his pie hole and advocated the manipulation of the process to deny Trump... and all the other candidates remained silent.

Rush is wrong, no kiss and make up at the convention. Only two choices now... Trump or Hillary.

Rush has also said:

“We still have someone in our roster that opposes every bit of the Democrat agenda, perhaps more than anybody else in the race and that’s Cruz. I mean Cruz does not have in his record any statement like Trump does of having supported certain things the Democrats have done. Cruz is inarguably thoroughbred conservative.”

Cruz is inarguably thoroughbred conservative.

No there is a big argument against Cruz. Rush's statement only makes sense if you are a devout Free Traitor™.

>>What has the 2010 and 2012 conservative winners done to change the course of America.

Not enough, but more than electing liberals would have.

Is your argument that we should, therefore, elect those who are not conservative?

That makes no sense.

Should we elect moderates and liberals and hope they will be even less effective?

There’s no coherent reason in your reasoning.

Me, too. Rush seems to be jumping on Trump’s bandwagon for some reason. Maybe he knows many of us believe Cruz is now working with the establishment.

Considering your twos juvenile antics of posting nothing but infantile insults, I suggest you reconsider the notion that either of you represent “class”.

Certainly cannot consider that accurate watching the antic of the “Principled Conservatives” around here.

Class involves being a reasonable adult, not a petulant child having a fit because they did not get 100% of what they wanted.

Yes it is. Perverse that you keep confusing posting cheap insults in place of rational debate.

There going to be one of the shortest TV shows in history. Really think Levin going to do well after alienating half his audience?

You want to talk about class then bring up Mark “get of the phone you big dope” Levin?

Apparently you have no problem with tough talk, as long as the correct people do it, if not then it is “classless”

I don’t see anywhere where he is “Jumping on the Trump” bandwagon. He merely is pointing out the idiocy of the GOPe Romney plan.

Unlike the 100%er, Rush realizes that if you allow these sort of tactics to be used, they can be as easily used against a Candidate you like some time. In politics, you have to keep the lid on these Pandora box tactics, not open them because you have the disillusion that it will give you a transit political advantage.

The 100%er need to wake up. It is entirely possible for people to be on the same side politically without mindlessly rubber stamping 100% of what any particularly Campaign feel should be done.

Which part? That conservatives have a clue about what is true and valuable? Or that what is true and valuable doesn’t change with times?

Are you positing that liberals do, or that it changes with the times?

Really think doing the same thing over and over and over, no matter how many times it fails is “rational”?

Reagan has words for the #NeverTrump Purity Choir in the Conservative Media. This idea that if they just keep shouting they will get a 100%er elected to do everything they want is a fools notion.

Reagan:

“A man 75-80% on my side is a valuable friend and ally, not my enemy:

I know this falls on deaf ears with 100%ers but the fact remains, We are a Constitutional Republic that rests on the notion that the people’s Representatives in Government know how to compromise and negotiate.

This feeling that Cruz will ride into DC and dictate the Conservative Media’s 100%er terms to everyone else there is simply wishful thinking. What is more probably is Cruz would be a GOP Carter.

Carter was the same sort of religious political puritan who went to DC and assumed he would dictate his political dogmas to everyone there. The record shows how badly that idea failed.

“Conservative” politicians talk a good game and then go to DC and accomplish nothing. After 30 years of fail, it is time to try another solution. The winning candidate is “GASP” going to have to cut DEALS! And some times those deals require..compromise!!!

Another fail point for the “Principled Conservatives” is they think only as far as the election. Then once they win their purity candidates go to DC and fail against the inertia of the DC/Media political machine. 1994-2000-2010-2014 are all example of where this “Next election” mindset has failed.

Trump is merely the 1st wave of a multi wave assault. Cruz might do for a follow up wave, he is not a 1st wave candidate.Without Trump to lead the way, the Cruz boat would of either been ignored because it was irrelevant, or been shelled into oblivion by the 10s of millions of GOPE attack ads.

The 1st wave job in any assault is to shatter the defenses and open the road for the follow up waves. No matter how flawed you think the vessel is, Trump is the best 1st wave political assault team we have had to hand in my lifetime.

We need to use Trump for all he is worth to shatter the corrupt, “my party right or wrong” mindset that grips vast swaths of the electorate. Break that inertia, get the people thinking outside the party label box and real change is possible. Do not an we slide into a stagnate European style decline that will not end in my lifetime. Cruz shares that agenda point but is not as well equipped by background and media following to achieve that break through as Trump

We either win this now or we have little chance of ever doing it again politically. Once we win we must relentlessly stay on the attack election wave after election wave until we are dead.

I am really not willing to leave this fight to my kids and grand-kids. We have let the ship of state drift since Reagan in the hands of the “smart people”. We failed and most redeem that failure.

This is our generation’s “go” time

The owner of the website has some suggestion for you on how you behave going forward. Your antics do nothing to convince anyone to vote for Cruz. It merely alienate people he is going to need voting for him.

We are going to have a great candidate and we’re going to crush Hillary in the election!
March 5, 2014 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 3/5/2016, 6:03:33 PM by Jim Robinson

Folks, we need to keep our eye on the prize and settle down. We are going to have a great pro-America candidate whether it’s Cruz or Trump, and we’re going to crush the godless America-hating Marxist/fascist felon, Hillary Clinton, in the general election! And that’s just a fact.

And that’s the bottom line.

We are finally going to secure our borders and start helping repatriate the illegal aliens to Mexico or where ever they came from. And we’re going to tighten up and start enforcing our immigration laws, including ending sanctuary cities and possibly ending anchor babies. Both of our leading candidates agree on that.

And we’re going to repeal Obamacare, cut taxes, cut spending, cut regulations, cut the government, cut the debt, cut the global balonyism, cut the P/C crap. We’re going to cut the EPA, cut the education dept, cut a whole lot of unconstitutional stuff out of the federal government and let the states control education and other issues that the constitution reserves to them. Both of our guys agree on that.

We’re going to pay more attention to trade deals and get better deals for American industry and American workers for a change. We’re going to bring back capital, bring back manufacturing, bring back jobs! Cutting taxes, cutting government, rolling back regulations and replacing socialism with capitalism will see to a booming Reaganesque economy and that will generate prosperity and jobs. Cruz, Trump and all of us agree on all of that.

We also agree that we want pro-life, pro-family, pro-constitution, pro-America judges. Both our candidates agree with us on that.

We also want to rebuild our military and make it the most powerful force for peace and defense on the planet. We emphasize peace through strength and do not use our military for nation building or social engineering. We understand it’s for blowing the crap out of terrorists and war mongers who wish to do us harm. And both of our candidates are on board for that.

Hillary stands for the exact opposite on all of the above!!

This primary is going to be over soon and we’re all going to have to make a decision. No matter whether Cruz gets it or Trump, we must unite behind OUR candidate and the AMERICAN side and do all we possibly can to get him elected and send the unindicted felon and all around America-hating, liberty-hating traitor, Hillary Clinton to her well deserved next term—in jail.

I say we drop the vitriol against each other and against our leading candidates as of now. We’re only serving to harden the hearts of our natural allies against us and from this point forward, the hit pieces will not change minds or votes, but will possibly feed the enemy propaganda machine.

Lighten up and bring some joy back into our lives and peace on our board.

We’re among friends here.

Thank you all very much.

God bless.

I’m not asking for purity.

But the biggest RINO of all time?

Devoid of even knowing what conservatism is, lacking in its most basic principles, not to mention integrity.

I think your proportions are quite disproportionate. Not even close.
