The reason we need a physical fence is because electronic and staff patrolling can be defunded or turned off.
I would suggest Sheryl come to Pinal County about 60 miles North of the border and ride with PCSO’s Stone Garden & K9 units for a few days.
From simply reading the Sheriff’s Report in the local fishwrap, I suspect PCSO is stopping close to a half a ton of various drugs a week.

I watched that this morning and all this piece proves is that Trump is correct and something needs to be done.
When you have even a big Liberal like Howard Buffett saying the same thing then you know your on the right track.

last Wednesday, march 2 they stopped 2 cars About a mile north of I-8 and Az84 with a couple of hundred pounds of mostly marijuana. If memory serves, five arrested, three Mexicans and two locals.
In fact the stop was exactly 2 miles east of my home.
The west portion of Pinal County is located smack dab in the center of the drug super highway.
Mostly due to the fact that the Tohono O’odham reservation is huge and crosses the border. The border crossings there are very porous. Take a close look at a map of Sothern AZ and you can see the problem. It ain’t the BP or the local Sheriff Depts. It is a Washington problem that is killing us.
This is what makes me so mad at those in Washington and the media... nothing is being done to stop this....there is no opposition...The open borders supporting GOPe and Faux Media theory is no longer theory...it is out in the open...I hope it changes in November. My heart goes out to you who live with this daily :(
